Check engine light???

Does Viper computer revert to rich mixture (ie. safe mode) when check engine light is on? If so, other than robbing power due to less than optimal air/fuel, are there any other side effects of driving in this mode?

It does, but it is unclear to me if it differentiates between different faults. O2 sensor codes makes it run rich, but I don't know about some of the other faults.

Besides robbing power, it also probably decreases gas mileage some and I think you tend to get more exhaust smell. I don't think it causes any permanent problems.
