Hey guys and gals, what is the best way to degrease and clean an engine without messing anything up? Thanks for the help.

Use a leaf blower afterward to dry it off. Works great for getting water out of places where water shouldn't be.

I use Simple Green for degreasing. Someone recommended going to a motorcycle shop and getting a spray can of whatever they use on Harleys to make the engine shine.

Can't beat MEGUIAIRS waxes and cleaners. I've been using them for many years....especially the liquid wax/cleaner. Didn't know they made a Degreaser. I'll have to try it...

I personally use either Simple Green as it natural-based or Castrol's super clean for those stubborn grease spots and yes, the leaf blower or hair dryer (with no heat) will work on keeping water out of places you don't want it (ie electrical connectors, etc.)

I like Simple Green also, has a mild acid that cleans the aluminum surfaces like new. :2tu:
