What is the deal, could someone please explain it to me. Our armed forces go over there (& lose thousands of our soldiers) & defend Iran because Iraq is bullying them & NOW Iran is threatening us! Am I missing something here? Sorry Grisoman, but no it doesn't matter to me, what's the since of owning it if you can't afford to drive it. jmo

I've been hearing threats of $5/gal gas for years...I'll wait til I see it to worry about it.

We've been paying $5+ for regular here in the socialistic province of BC, for years.:crazy2: Right now ,regular is $1.28 per liter.
If the cost of fuel scared me, I should have sold my twin engined boat long time ago. Granted ,I float more now a days than going WOT all day:rolaugh:

Exactly, compared to other countries, $5 is nothing. England is what 8-9 a gal? Turkey is like $12? I think Americans need to find new things to complain about.

It really isn't the gas I have to put in my car that worries me the most, although that ***** ass. What it comes down to is America moves it goods through trucks, I don't know how much but I know it is alot. So every time gas goes up a dollar you don't JUST feel it at the pump, but at the grocery store and everywhere else. I agree it could be worse, but you know what, it could be a HELL OF A LOT BETTER too, drill baby drill IMO.

right, i dont see the point in this conversation but i'll play along. Whhy stop at 5? How about 7? Bring it on. My snake will eat it up and have less vehicles on the road to worry about;)

I think Americans need to find new things to complain about.
I'd rather them just stop complaining

It's not like our government cares when they kill a pipeline like Keystone XL to appease some hippies. $10 bucks and I will still drive it. Not going to let stupidity in this country's management ruin my life or enjoyment of it.

Pretty sure the days of cheap gas are a thing of the past. So get used to it and just deal with it.

It does not cost a ton more to drive your Viper than most other cars in our garages.

Heck, my Viper gets better mileage and has lower emissions than my Jeep : >)

Like the way it kind of has dual personalities. Loafing along the freeway at 80 mph in 6th to conserve, then dropping down a few gears to unleash the Beast!

Gas in Viper = Entertainment Expense

$5/gallon gas wouldn't change how often I enjoy my RT/10.

Like most, my Viper only sees the outside of the garage a few days a month. I don't think $5/gal gas would really change that. I avg. about 5,500 miles/yr. At an estimated (aka guess) avg. of 15mpg, another $1/gal would cost me approx. $370 more/yr.

whiners! with a max of 45% income tax and church tax (~7-9%) and "east german solidarity tax" 5.5% and 19% VAT on what is left when you go shopping we reach +70% tax.
Fuel is almost 10$ a gallon and so on...stop crying. you live in paradise with 5 bucks a gallon....

Higher prices here in the US are directly correlated to production at the refineries. Production has been cut back at the refineries to keep supply tight and prices artificially high.

In addition to the refinery situation, the barrel being traded as a commodity has created a whole set of price issues. What slays me is that when economic outlook in the US is looking up the price of a barrel increases in a knee-**** manner, which in turn causes prices at the pump to go higher again in anticipation. The incongruence is that high gas prices create poor economic growth... These type of anticipatory reactions are in part a cause of high prices.

The US has experienced many periods of economic growth with gas prices holding steady or even declining. This will not happen again because the trading market has its filthy hands in it and has figured out how profitable it can become. One regulation that would stop this would be to set into law that a buyer of oil MUST take delivery. This does not mean that you cannot buy oil, but it would prevent investment houses from trading because he has no place to put it when it comes time to take delivery.

Gas prices higher or lower than the US in other countries in the past has normally been directly related to heavy (or lower) taxation in those countries.

The attitude to "quit whining" is the wrong one because those that control such things have then won.

And to think that we have all this oil up in Canada they want to sell to us, not to mention Alaska! But our wounderful President don't want to threaten a couple of endangered squirrles to build a pipeline to Texas so we can refine it? But don't worry you can always move to China since they said they will buy it and do whatever it takes to keep it from us. Better yet stay here and buy a bike and sit in your lounge chair and admire you Viper in the garage until you save enough money to put a couple of gallons in it.... ie...Mad Max style. Not to mention other bad things that will continue to happen in this counrty if this clown gets re-elected.

I hear ya man, Israel is our only real friend in that region, and when they do something to defend themsleves and secure their borders the whole world gangs up against them, especially the Muslim countries (like France ;-) ), and Russia and China. And the US government has to pretend they're against it too, to appease the Europeans (mostly filled with Muslim immigrants now).

As far as $5/gal gas, I guess I'll just have to cut down on non-essential items like food for my kids (JK), instead of giving up driving my Viper.

Premium is about $8.50 a gallon in Europe. Even at $5 a gallon, we'd still have a hell of a deal. I see no reason to complain.

We shouldn't complain about high gas prices here because Europeans pay more than us?? So what? Compared to Venezuela and OPEC nations, we pay a LOT more. I never understood that reasoning.

Have been hearing about $5 gas for years now...who cares? :drive:

I do find it interesting how this thread has been used to bash Obama, yet again :dunno: At least there are only 24 hours in a day...

Obama ***** as does $5 gas if it reaches fruition. Gas prices don't influence how much I drive my Viper. I will drive the snot out of it whether gas is $5 or not. Life is short, enjoy the Viper.

Exactly, once we quit complaining we are through. Currently, there is really no substantial basis for the price as it is right now.
