That always leaves the option for the Corvette to say "No thanks."

GTS Vipers are underrated on hp. They have closer to 475hp than 450. Once you consider this, the blowout in this video makes more sense.

"The morale of the story is, if you are going to race a Viper, get a Z06". I'd like to add; If you have a Z06, don't race Disturbed's GTS unless you want a good old fashioned a$$ whipping.

That WASN't a Z06. They don't come in convertible and not with an automatic. Looked like a stock C6 to me. Still a good race but not a fair match.

no surprise there.... my brother just got a 2008 C6 M6 coupe, it's quick, but the low end grunt just isn't there like my Viper....

Not a fair race as the outcome could have been predicted by a 2 year old .....It would have been a better race if it was the new 430hp C6 vs the GTS...Either way Id take GTS over the Vette any day even if it would be close race or a loss...

its an auto,,,,watch the video again........the beginning power brake gives it away and then the view from back at the start of the race the brakes lights are on. (my guess its an auto)

Yeah, I watched it again and it's an auto.

I was looking at the shifting into gear, and didn't notice the second one was going down into "D" and not up into 1st.

Also there is a 10 span between the 2 cars. I have to say that the Viper has held up well! A B/W would have been faster but I guess there was no need to show off.

I stand corrected. The Z06 in the end threw me. Not a bad race for a stock C6. Nice car and the new paddle shift works flawlessly.

I think the base C7 will have 475 HP and give the 1996 GTS a run for it's money..Of course that will be 2012....LOL
