GEN 2 Arrow Built Engine for Trade + Cash?

    All,

    I am just trying to gauge interest in the following:

    Due to changing circumstances I am considering selling my 1997 Gen II GTS Viper.

    I am considering selling/trading the engine built by Arrow Racing Engines.
    The bottom end is a built engine by Arrow with GEN IV top end. With approximately 4,000 miles.

    In return I would want a stock GEN 2 (preferrably forged) plus cash.

    Why ? I have doubts that if I sell the car with this engine I will really get the best price with it in the car.

    Note: The tranny was rebuilt and has 2,000 miles on it and a BBG Heritage clutch and flywheel complete with throwout etc. Maybe something could be worked out here as well?

    Once again; Why ? Maybe I am wrong, but if I sell this car with 27,000 miles it just appears that unless I find a buyer that appreciates the quality of the engine and the drive train components I really won't be able to sell the car for more than average values. i.e. the car won't sell for more than a car having all stock components.

    So is this something people here would be interested in? and if so what do you think a fair price/trade would be?

    Top end would be a modified GEN 4/3 intake, GEN 4 stock heads, GEN 3 filter assembly.

    Once again I am trying to guage interest since I would like to know if this is a reasonable fall back position in the sale of the car.

    Seems like a lot of work to save a few thousand bucks. Considering you can find a similar-mileage gen2 engine maybe you can work out a trade plus maybe $3-5000. The work on both sides will prob need to be done by DIYer else it doesn't make sense. I don't see the logistics of everything coming together for you.

    I would just sell the car as is and try to hold out for the "right" buyer. Local sell or ebay it and you'll likely not get what you want.

    Didn't you have another engine for sale recently? What happened with that?

    Would be? So is it currently running and in the car? What's used to tune it? Was it dynoed?

    To complicated. Too much work . Sell to the right guy the way it is.

    I would put your motor back to stock (heads,intake) and sell it as is. Then sell your Gen IV/III heads,intake,filters seperate.

    Remember. If you do a swap, then both cars will be lowered in value by having a non-matching numbers car.

    You will need to disclose to the new buyer that the engine in the car has different miles on it than the rest of the car.

    speedracer4 might have the better idea.

    Might be easier to just swap the entire car for another 97 plus some cash.

    How much do you think your modified engine would be worth?

    Please describe how your car runs differently than stock? Many would be interested to know.
