My Roe SC snake didn't gain squat when we added a 10PSI from an 8PSI.......Macedo tuned.......and this is what we ended up with:

8 PSI 598.48RWHP 675.72 RWTORQUE

10 PSI 601.07RWHP 703.91 RWTORQUE

Hope you see better gains than I did.

Sound like a great dyno post. I would love to know what each lb of boost equals in terms of whp. Do it and post your results.

Not a bad torque gain. What was the temperature and what octane were you running?

In the perfect world 14.7 lbs of boost would double the horsepower. Lets say you start with 420rwhp. 420/14.7= 28hp per lb of boost. So I would think 20 hp/lb would probable be right in line, with the increase in intake charge temp. That's my guess anyway.

Simms, thought some heads but what can I expect in comparison to the cost? What am I looking at???Thanks

Bindy

Actually I have been told by a few that Sean Roe's heads are a good head for the price, and work great with his setup too.

But to get a real answer, I'd call Larry Macedo and he can give you your options. I think he port matches the intake to the heads with Roe setups.

Matt, what numbers would you be asking for.....sorry.

"Under the curve" means below the peak numbers. Hold the dyno graphs next to each other and disregard the peak numbers. Compare the entire rpm range, do you show greater gains in any of the rpm ranges. (i.e. 8lb pulley 450HP @3000rpm VS. 10lb pulley 500 @3000rmp). What you may see is that you have a flatter more linear power curve. Also look at your TQ after 4000rmp does it hold up for longer or do you show the same drop.

So would I be correct in assuming that without adding something like an intercooler - you must have reached the point of diminishing returns from going to 10lbs. from 8 lbs.? In other words, with the increased boost, you had to turn down the settings on the VEC2 to avoid detonation - which effectively negates the additional boost.

Not sure if this would apply to the original question of going to 8lbs from 7lbs though?

Odds are, since HP is a calculation of TQ and RPM's he's making more power under the curve as I stated earlier. Peak TQ happens at around 3000-3500RPM. His TQ increase alone tells me that he has gained power in the low/mid range. There is alot to be said for tuning in this area. There is power left on the table between 2500-4500RPM off of Sean's card. He has said in the past that his card is set on the mild side. This mid-range power in my opinion is much more important than peak power. You use the mid-range every day, peak numbers mean nothing. How often do you hit 6000rpm.
