I'm new to the site, and am trying to figure out how to post a picture with my messages?

Does it really have to come from a website? I have lots of Pics of my car but none on a website.

Any suggestions?

Here are some quick tips on how to use the Viper Club of America Image
Gallery. It is important to remember that you MUST be logged in to
the Gallery in order to upload images. Currently the username
database for the Gallery is not shared with that of the Discussion
Forums, so it might be necessary to register separately for the
Gallery. If this is the case, simply register for the Gallery with
the same info you use on the Forums (at some point we will be merging
the two databases and this will make it easier for all of us). Go
here:

http://www.viperclub.org/menus/index_media.htm

And either LOGIN, or REGISTER. Once you have done this you will see
up near the top right the option to UPLOAD PHOTOS. Click on that link
and follow the steps to upload your images into your personal folder,
or pick another area you want them displayed by choosing a CATEGORY.
Please note that the limit for each image is currently 200K.

Once the image is uploaded, view the image to make sure it was
uploaded OK. If it was relatively large you MIGHT see different
variations on the "Filesize" line, just above "Keywords" and
"Descriptions", listed UNDER the image. Ideally, you want to select
an image around 60K in size and 640x480 in dimension (for display on
the Forums).

For me, the easiest way to ensure I have the right image, I RIGHT
CLICK on the image and select "Properties". A box appears and it
tells you the file size as well as the dimensions. In that same box
it shows the "Address" (or URL). Highlight and copy that URL
by RIGHT clicking on the highlighted URL and selecting "Copy".

Now, all you have to do to post that image on the Forums is, while
composing your message, include the URL between the image tags, like
so:

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>[image]http://vca2.viperclub.org/gallery/data/500/210DSC00167-med.jpg[/image]</pre><hr />

gives you:
210DSC00167-med.jpg

Now, preview your post to make sure the image appears. If you run
into ANY problems please let me know. I put this little "How To" note
together based on my experiences. If you have a problem, or find
there are steps missing or poorly explained, please let me know so I
can "fine tune" this message.....Thank you very much!

Tony,

I can't get the "properties" to the images in my gallery. When I move the cursor over the image, the cursor turns from an arrow to a hand. When I right click, I don't get the window with the "properties" like I do with the images above. This hasn't been a problem in the past. Has something changed recently?

I am heading to a white (sandy) Christmas in Key West in a matter of minutes. Yes...the software changed. I'll see if MP can change that since not being able to right click is a new thing. :)

Tony,

How's life in Key West? Has the software changed for certain users? I noticed that others can post images from their gallery. I can get "properties" when I right click on my avatar image. I just can't get "properties" when I right click on any image in the media section.

Yeah, there is a slight problem with right-clicks in the gallery right now. :(

Key West is awesome! Though I have been working on a honey-do list the entire time I have been here! Hanging shelves, pruning palms ( :( ), mounting the GPS in her boat (did I just say MOUNT??? LOL!!!). I'm about tired!!! Our son and I did partake of a bit of para-sailing yesterday downtown. I thought it would be more scary...but it was a blast. I have hung all the pictures, screened up the house, and changed the oil in all the vehicles....my work here is done and I head back to Virginia Beach tomorrow.

What's with all the work there? Thought you were on vacation? Folks on vacation are suppose to rest and relax. Hope VA is more relaxing and the whether cooperates so you can take the Viper out for a spin.

I gotcha! For some reason my domain is in limbo! :( I go away for a couple weeks and all goes to heck! I just landed back in Virginia Beach about 30 minutes ago....I'll be sorting out e-mail tomorrow (later today)...I hope! :)

Tony I am no dummy, you are making look bad, can't post pictures, they are in my gallery and can't go no father...

Help

thanks
Gary,

Since you can't right click on the image to get the properties, what you have to do is go to your gallery and right click on the thumbnail of the image that you want to post. Copy address of the thumbnail and place the url between the image tags.

It should look like this:
"[image]http://vca2.viperclub.org/gallery/data/528/412kytrk6-thumb.jpg[/image]"

Replace the word "thumb" with the word "med" like this:
[image]http://vca2.viperclub.org/gallery/data/528/412kytrk6-med.jpg[/image]

Here ya go
412kytrk6-med.jpg

412carbon-med.jpg
412kytrk-med.jpg

Those are cool wheels by the way. Who makes them?
