The IN/KY VCA is having a RESCHEDULED Viper Dyno Day on Saturday October 18, 2008 at Automotive Specialists, 1337 Pleasant St., Noblesville, Indiana (317) 773-0322 Automotive Specialists: About the Shop from 9:00 AM up to 4:00 PM EDT (presuming that we have enough cars to go that long CONTINUOUSLY). For your investment ( $70 for 3 pulls if more than 5 or more cars participate, $95 for 3 pulls if less than 5 cars participate) you will get three pulls with a few minutes in between pulls for light modifications. You will be able to drive your car during the pulls. After your three pulls, you will have a graph printed documenting the Horsepower and Torque curves and an approximation of the air / fuel ratio at various rpms. You will also receive a file that you can view and manipulate on your home computer. Bring a flash drive if you have one. If not, I will e-mail your file to you that evening. Please note that cash or check preferred because credit card machine is located away from main garage area... but credit card is OK if needed.

Dyno time will be scheduled on a first come first served basis, however attempts will be made to accommodate individual needs. You do not have to drive you car if you’d rather not, nor do you have to do all three pulls, however there is no discount for less as the labor is primarily consumed hooking the car up.

PLEASE contact Steve Fess for YOUR RESERVATION ASAP !!!! (see below)

ALL Viper owners are WELCOME at this event...especially out-of-Region VCA Members.

Many of you thought that Viper Season was over for 2008...WRONG...we have had two stellar gatherings in the past 8 days...and we and not finished yet! Even if you do not wish to dyno your Viper...come and visit...FREE PIZZA at NOON EDT.

If you have questions, concerns, or just want more info...contact Steve Fess at [email protected]

SEE YOU THERE !!!

OK, Wimps...er...I mean Fellow Viper Owners...I've heard that some of you are busy on Dyno Day...That's fine, it happens to us all !!!

But, I have also heard that some of you are not sure that you want to get out of bed THAT early on a Saturday...and/or that the "trip is too long"...or, a week in advance, that you are predicting that you'll have a headache and the noise would just be too great, etc., etc.

Well Old Ron Fleming is a busy guy...but he has STILL has put together a great dyno program. WE NEED TO SUPPORT HIM !!! Therefore, "by the power invested in me by me", I have decided that we need a couple (or a few???) door prizes to "up the ante"..."sweeten the pie"...take the sting out of YOUR much feared LOW HP numbers.

That said, one of said prizes will be an Actron CP9175 OBD II AutoScanner (code reader) and another will be an Actron CP9125 PocketScan (smaller, and a little less capable). These come in very handy..especially for those of you foolin' with your cars.

As this is being funded from a source other than the IN/KY VCA Region, Ron and I will decide just how to award said prizes (and POST same on the VCA board)...could be high VIPER HP, could be distance driven, or...WHATEVER.

On a serious note, I do realize that not all can make these events...but I thought a little "stimulus package" (they are popular these days) might help those "on the fence".

More later,

Steve Fess (presently without Ron's knowledge or permission) 317-402-9013

FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT ELECT:

Steve, Ron, and Fellow Viper Club Members,

Thanks for the update. As acting VP (cause I'm acting like the VP), I was going to try to orchestrate a cruise around the 465 loop after of each of our monthly meetings. If anyone is interested, I thought we might start with a cruise around 465 after everyone was done running their cars on the Oct. 18th Dyno Day. The 456 loop is about 55 miles long. In a normal car, the drive should take about an hour. Of course in our Vipers, I would anticipate no more than about 30 minutes : ) Just kidding officer. If anyone is interested, please reply to this message.

Incentives/prizes/etc. keep popping up...HOWEVER, there's no sense listing them here because:

If you are attending the event, you'll find out the answer...

AND, if you are not...it won't matter, will it?? :)

We DO expect a good turnout tomorrow...with quite a variety of equipment!!!

Well, I personally feel that the Dyno Day was a great success. We had many different cars on the dyno...stock Vipers, Vipers with built motors, a Viper with Roe supercharger, a Viper with a Paxton supercharger, a SRT-10 Ram, a Pontiac GTO, a BMW 5 series, and a Ford GT...as well as several Vipers that were not dynoed !!! The "victory lap" (5 Vipers, SRT-10 Ram, and Ford GT) on the interstates was also quite a show of force !!

THANKS to All who may this a great day...especially Ron for putting this together, our hosts Brent & Dustin of Automotive Specialists for your expertise, advice, hospitality, hard work, and friendship! Also a BIG THANK YOU to all of our Members, visiting VCA Members, and visiting SRT Ram Member for taking the time and traveling the distance ( up to 200 miles in two cases) to make this a fun event. It is always rewarding visit with old friends and to meet new ones!!!!

For those who ran on the dyno, I have forwarded your e-mail addresses to Ron, who in turn, will send your dyno run info to you.

It was a safe and fun day...THANKS , again, to All who made it so!!

Steve Fess, Sec. VCA IN/KY Region, Inc.
