in the process of a cam change on my gen 1

my car has less than 4,000 miles . removed the intake and valve covers today , noticed the valve springs are a double spring , kind of surprised expecting single springs . anyone know how much lift they will take or a good replacement spring set that will take .610 lift ? thanks to all . still need lifter info .

do i have to remove the oil pan to remove the timing cover on the gen 1
