intake vs smooth tubes?? where\'s the chrome?

what is the difference between intake and smooth tubes? and why do i not see chrome!? :crazy:

Silicone smooth tubes replace restrictive and turbulent factory hoses to add horsepower. Red or black. Fits stock throttle bodies.

Silicone Smooth Tubes - 3 inch
Required for 70 mm Throttle body set. Connects Throttle Bodies to Airbox.

The "tubes" are the hoses that flow from the intake airbox to your throttle bodies. The factory ones have ripples in them and you get a better air flow by replacing them with smooth ones. The silicone intake tubes are one type of smooth tubes. There are chrome ones too -- offered by other aftermarket vendors -- check the Marketplace section of this web site.

Not a great pic, but you can sort of see chrome smooth-tubes. They are 3" with 3" to 2.5" adapters at either end. You can get them from PartsRack.
