Been a vintage corvette guy for years and ready to make the plunge to a viper. Trying to calculate the market value on these cars as everyone has an asking price.

Seen a couple 2004's with less than 10,000 miles in the $44k range.

What should I be aware during my search?

Any help much appreciated.

Yes I am from Southern California. Very new around Vipers, who is Dan Cragin? I would just assume he is very knowledgeable, does he pre-purchase inspection or source cars?

Thanks for the hit.

Depending on where exactly you are in socal, there are two major places that have stellar reputations for customer service and Viper experience. Dan Cragin's shop, http://specialtyperformanceteam.com/shop/pc/home.asp and Todd at http://www.acperformance.net/ Either one could provide a PPI. There also are some dealership Viper techs that have been recommended if you needed something closer.

Check tires ( originals should be replaced 100% of the time ) , most will need oil cooler lines replaced ( they tend to seep , poor design ) , and many will need window regulators replaced. These are just three common issues , not counting typical maintenance questions with a 13 year old car.
