Hi, all.

I don't have a Viper, but I need a down and dirty overview of the difference between Gens 1, 2 and 3 Viper front brake calipers. I'd like to do a front brake upgrade on my 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda which incorporates Viper calipers along with larger rotors. I found this upgrade described in the August 2005 Mopar Action magazine. The instructions call for Gen 1 calipers, but I'm not having a lot of luck locating a used (as in cheap) pair.

I guess the main question is, do the calipers mount the same across all three generations? Also, if they all mount the same, what are the advantages/disadvantages of each? I assume I'll need to balance the cost versus performance, but I'm sure any of these will be a BIG improvement over my stock 10 3/4" rotors and 1970 calipers. This car is 95% street driven, so I don't need full-on race equipment, but I'd still like to be able to brake from 45 MPH in under 200 feet.

Any help would be appreciated...
