700lb Eibach Fronts
1000lb Eibach Rears

Hoosier R6 295 Fronts
Hoosier R6 345 Rears

2:26 best at RA, 50% at 10/10 and 50% at 9/10

I absolutely LOVE the way the car handles and feels.

But.. I've burned through both the upper rear fender linings. Mainly I was doing it coming out of the carousel at RA and post apex in the kink. I know I could raise the car a bit, but... i still think my springs might be a bit soft now. I'm learning more and more and keep picking up time every time I'm out.

Any recommendations as to new springs to run? I will definitely be buying them through JonB!

Thanks!

You are creating gobs of downforce with that aero package.....ASSume you have stiffened youyr compression settings accordingly?

I would be taking small swings at this....mabye 850-1100s as next stop AFTER you have adjusted your valving to accomodate the bottoming.

If the rake of the car is not correct then this will happen with almost any tolerable spring rate. Even the ACRX with 1400# rear springs have to have a rear ride height of 5.25-5.5" to make this work properly, if yours is lower then that you will probably always rub. I do not have the aero and with mine at 5" I have gone through two sets of the liners with 1000# rears lol.

Mark, at what point on the car is the proper place to measure the ride height for front and back?

The thought of changing out my motons to a new shok does not interest me, haha.

Thanks!

You have to do the measuring at the centerline of the front and the rear tire contact patches (a line between the two rear tires and another between the two fronts), ground to frame tube.

Ok, I took the measurements:

Rear: 4 3/8"
Front: 3 3/4"

So, I'm sure the next thing you guys will say is to raise the car a pinch. :(

Magnus, as Mark noted and Viperless posted your viper's sitting too low. Quick guide, 3 fingers from tire to fender lip in the rear. Careful on those inner fenders, you'll see a bolt head under the liner, that's the next stop for the tires when the liner breaks and it will grove your tires. Terry Rossi set my moton's up w/700-1200's, which he said is a great track set-up. Good news on the inner fenders, '03-'10's are all the same on coupes and convertibles, look for nice used ones, new are really pricey. BTW you viper looks great on the track! Mike

Ok, today I tried raising the compression from 3 to 5 (of 6) and it didn't make enough of a difference. It did seem to make the back end a little less grippy though right after turn in. This could be due to simply pushing it harder or the tires going away though.

I'm going to raise the ride heights and put in stiffer springs. Now to chose the rates.

Thanks for all the input and thanks for the page Viperless.

Here are the changes I'm considering making:

Make sure my canisters are at 175psi (I think this is what I had them set to already).
Pick up an adjuster kit for the canisters.

700lb Eibach Fronts to 900lb
1000lb Eibach Rears to 1300lb
-or-
700lb Eibach Fronts to 800lb
1000lb Eibach Rears to 1100lb

I'm leaning toward the stiffer springs though.

Front: 3 3/4" to 4"
Rear: 4 3/8" to 5 3/8"

With the help of JonB@PartsRack, I'm going with

front: 8" Hypercoil 900
rear: 7" Hypercoil 1300

Hoping to hit Road America Monday/Tuesday with GT Track days if the weather holds out.

Anxious to hear the results...... have fun and be safe.

Say HELLO to Road America General Manager George B. at the track office.
He is a fellow BLUE / White SRT10 Owner, and well-known track rat and One-Lapper.

I am sure He'd like to see your car!

Picked up the car from the shop today, here are the new suspension specs:

Suspension/Chassis:

Moton Clubsports

Springs:
Front: 900lb Hypercoil, Rear: 1300lb Hypercoil

Ride Height:
Front: 4", Rear: 5 3/8"

Camber:
Front 2.1, Rear 1.5

Toe:
Front .090 out, Rear .120 in

The info is posted on my fquick page:
http://www.fquick.com/garages/viewvehicle.php?id=22065

The main differences in the car are 700/1000 to 900/1300 springs, 3 1/2-4 5/8 to 4-5 3/8 ride height and 1.1/0.6 to 2.1/1.5 camber.

Hopefully it performs well at Road America and my confidence in the new setup is high.
