Time for the Friday morning Viper cruise to Park City during VOI - II and though I am not in the first group, I decide that going to the Olympic Center ( optional stop ) is not for me, since I was there a couple of years back. Mosey on into Park City to find, lo an behold, I am the first Snake to slither into town. I get escorted up to the holding area and 15 minutes later a few more Venomous members wander into line. After about 45 minutes we are escorted by the local gendarmes down Main Street to park our beasts and then get those all important photo shots. After that we have $25 gift cards to eat lunch anywhere in town we wish ( way cool ) and since I am first in line , right down by the curb, I figure I can go scout out a good grub spot before everyone else gets settled.
Me and a buddy from Nebraska find a great place to eat and when we wander back we are informed that I have been ticketed. What the heck , the organizers and a cop told me where to park, but it did appear I was about 6 inches into the red , no parking zone ( though the paint was faded ). Hmmm............getting a bit ticked as I was parked by an officer of da law and this is crazy!!
Next step is to find a policeman , and though I find their vehicles , they all seem to have disappeared ( little did I realize at first they were on the other side of a firetruck that was apparently using the ladder to take photos with an ethereal aerial view. Finally find a black clothed gendarme and he kinda listens and tells me to talk to the organizers, and of course the organizers tell me it is up to the cops! Bingo I am back chatting with officer friendly and he is not really budging , but Jim Johnson is smirking enough to wet his pants and me begins to smell da rat!!
Yep, little smiles break out like the measles and I find out I am being punked by the Park City Police, the organizers, and the whole of the sweet and wonderful CO/Utah VCA. Hmmmm...............even the cops couldn't resist, and then I find you wonderful club members had to go so far as have the young lady who hands out parking tickets run down with one ( none of the officers had one handy ) , just to make sure I got my Park City Parking Citation!!
Good one, and though I was the punk-ee , I had to admit that is probably why I like your group so much. You are all a bit wacky, and seem to constantly be on a Rocky Mountain High ( could be a bit too many beers so early in the day, though,ha ) , so you gotzzz me.......................just wish I had thought of it and done it to someone else.
