Rotating Image on Avatars - How Do You Do That?

So, just got my VCA member number and I'm all set to go on the site with my avatar. Nice, but I love technology, so I wanted to have two or possibly three photos rotating as I've seen others do.

Is that something that is easy to do or do you need a special program?

Any suggestions?

You need to create an animated GIF file. Google that. Or free animated gif creator program. Thingy.

Thanks for the advice.

I am certainly computer savvy, but all the "free" GIF animater software are downloads and some are not even the animater download.

I need to weigh the importance of a rotating avatar versus the possibility of damamging my computer through a virus.

I think, if there is no easy or reputable way, I'll just stay with the single image....its safer

Well, that was easy until I tried to copy it to the VCA site

It rotates in the create site, rotates in my hard drive, but when I try to upload it either says file too large or just doesn't rotate the two pictures...I went back and reduced the size of each picture and redid....still doesn't work.

The max image size for an avatar is 130x130 pixels or 48.8kb (whichever is smaller). Your avatar is 84.2kb, so keep shrinking and try again

Well, I tried reducing the size of each pic, but all that did was make each photo fuzzy. And, it still did not load as a rotating image.

So, not sure what the deal is, but I'm done

I'll just stick with a single pic, its just much less frustrating.

I'll focus on what is important....driving

My wife suggested that I go back and look for a way to reduce size and I noticed on that site that you can reduce to 120...so I did.

And, NOW IT WORKS....KEWL

Very cool avatar! I have a pic of my Viper in front of a firetruck back when my dad was a fireman (retired and works at the jail fulltime now). Red Vipers and red firetrucks go well together!

Thanks Chad, that's probably as creative as I am going to be!

I like both pictures, so this is a good way to display them.... maybe I need more practice on my computer skills.

And, of course, red IS my color, so I'm going to take a shot at incorporating a red Sneaky Pete logo. We'll see if that works!

Okay, being very symetrical, guess it bothers me that the Sneaky Pete logo is larger than the RT pics....but, don't have the skills to do more...looks pretty good (in my opinion).
