I was thinking about this " what viper will be the most valuable years from now"
and I have come to this conclusion.....

It will be a 2002 Final Edition ACR....

Why ???

If kept like new, with few miles...

The last of the GTS
One of the rarest
Looks very cool
and so on and so on....

What do you guy/gals think ???

I think the most valuable one will be the 1998 Viper GTS-R (GT2). Only a hundred made, and they have several things unique only to them, obviously. They are awesome looking!

I think I'd have to agree with Daffy. You also have the first one made, the last one made, the only RT/10 ACR, heck, all of the raffle cars. Who knows, it may be your car Dixter! ;)

I don't think it will be a red car. There are to many but I do think it will be a 2002 because of the ABS. 2002 Yellow ACR with stripes 1 0f 26

I'd vote with Dixter -- There were only 34 ACR Final Editions made, it has the most modern of the GTS features, and it looks sharp. (OK, I'm a little prejudiced, although mine is not an ACR) :)

1997 1 Blue RT produced
2001 1 Steel grey ACR RT
Ketchup and Mustard cars received alot of press.

But I also think the GT2 cars will probably be the most valuable or they would be to me.

Bad_Byte,
exactly the one you own.

besides that:

1. the pre-production 1996 that should have been crushed but wasn't.
2. 1998 GT2 1 of 100
3. any raffle car, i like the NHL 1 of 1

There's always the VomitViper. Everyone knows that one by now.

I think the GT2s and depending on how many are built the CompCoupes.

I would think the very first 92 models that went to some of the top Diamler Chrysler executives and I think Mr. Shelby himself still ownes one of the very first of the line.

While all of our Vipers are valuable to us individually. I agree with Dixter and Tri-Jim with only 34 FE ACR being made.

Re: The most valuable viper of all.....

If you look at the cars that get sold for record prices at the Barret/Jackson auctions, they are mostly like 30 years old, or more.

That means before our Vipers are worth more than we paid for them, lets see, uh, 42 + 30, uhm, that would make me 72 years old.

Dixter, Jim, and Tim will be in their late twenties by then, enjoying life and living large. :D

(yes, I know after 30 years they can't be in their 20s)

Re: The most valuable viper of all.....

Com on.. Final Editions could have been special if they didnt make so many of them. Dont take this wrong, I loved the concept, but when MY car is MORE rare then the FINAL EDITIONS of the same year, then WHATS so special about having a final edition ??

My example, my car is only 1 of 22 made, 2002 Graphite, Silver Stripes, and ACR. Compare 22 to 34, that makes my car 35% more rare then the FINAL editions ?? Yeah, nice job dodge. Anyway love them all. I have to agree the ACR rt/10 is FAR more valuable then any of our production cars, except for the first rt/10's. But if someone is not qualifying that they have to be production cars, then YES the GTS-R are FAR more valuable then even the First RT/10's FOR now.. Later (In 30 years) the First RT/10's are going to probably catch up to the GTSR in value.

My 2 cents.. please dont spam.

I would place my bet on a 1992 RT/10. That is in my mind THE Viper.

Re: The most valuable viper of all.....

I guess I could elaborate a little more on what I meant above.

IMHO

1. Any car will only we worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
2. I value mine more than what someone else would be willing to pay for it.

I would sell for a price, however, I'm darn sure it would be too high for any reasonable person. With that said the only 'reason' I would sell is because I know there are others willing to sell for less and I could replace my snake.

Thus, if fewer people are willing to sell for less, the more the cars are worth.

Simply put, its supply and demand. If we tighten the supply the demand goes up. Sure the cars are limited production types but they are at any given time a couple of hundred or so (I'm totally guessing) for sale. That's a large supply.

Re: The most valuable viper of all.....

Let's not forget the blue & white 97 RT/10's -- only 60 or so made in that color combination. Probably not worth more than a 92 in pristine condition or a GT2, but clearly a rare piece.

If there was a final edition ACR that was built without the comfort group, that will be a prime candidate. INMO.

I also think the GT2 cars will probably be the most valuable then the Blue and White combo RT/10 then the GTS ( I hope)........

Re: The most valuable viper of all.....

Though many of you may be right on the "one of a kind" cars and certainly the GT2's, however I'd think 1996 GTS's would command a premium also as it's:

The Original GTS
The stereotypical GTS color combo
The first with real windows
GENII suspension and engine
Indy Pace car year
The only one with the unique stripe design

Of course one could claim that I'm biased, and I am, but even if I didn't own one I'd say it.
