Some photos of a Comp Coupe we are upgrading. Thought you might enjoy. It is mostly before photos with the upgraded Dodge body work in the last photos.

Does this mean the McCann brothers are coming out to play with us in the USGT Championship? Formerly known as the Viper Racing League. FYI, Sonny Whelen is sponsoring our events and is racing with us along with son George and Eric Curren.

This Comp Coupe will be running in NASA Great Lakes. We have many more upgrades in the works. We have installed an Emco DV46 sequential transmission with no lift to shift, Quaife LSD differential, upgraded adjustable sway bars, and much more. We hope to get more pictures up soon.

Thanks for the positive feedback, we are proud to be apart of the Viper community. Yes it was hard taking the Viper out in the snow but here in Ohio it always seems to either rain or snow on our load and unload days.

That Emco transmission sounds like a bag full of FUN!

My unload 'day' was at 3:30AM during the ice storm a few weeks ago.
I *wished* it was only snow. :)

Tom,
Thanks for the kind words and hope we see you at the track. We are really looking forward to the opportunity to run Scott's car.

Steve,
We sent you a PM regarding the body parts.

We are hoping to get more pics up soon.

I will have a Comp Coupe one day!. Looks good, even in the snow.

Hijack: shouldn't the op's tag say : "Viper owner" instead of enthusiast?

McCann is working on the car and doing set up and track support for the owner who lives in Kentucky. The car was raced in the VRL at one time. Now doing more regional events.

This is a new WC front bumper support. It weighs 5 lbs less than the Dodge unit and allows for more airflow to the radiator. We are currently working on some custom ducting to cool the Viper even more.

New rear tie rods and upright support.

New WC rear swaybar. It is stiffer, adjustable and weighs 5 pounds less.

New aero body work back from paint. Gains are increased engine cooling and downforce with very little increase in drag. Those are brake ducts screened off on the splitter with a ram air intake in the center awaiting screen and ducting.

Emco DV46 6 Speed Sequential with no lift to shift

Is a full blown Motec setup required to run the Emco Sequential?

Shooter T1,

The Emco will work with out the Motec depending on what you want. The Emco installs as a direct replacement to the T56. It will use the same driveshaft and bell housing that is in the comp coupe. We recommend a 7.25in clutch and the Tilton slave assembly. You will have to shift with the clutch.

Where you will need the Motec is for the no-lift to shift. Depending on the year and harness in your comp coupe it may take a few upgrades. There is a separate harness from Dodge for the Emco gear box, which includes input/outputs for the strain gauge, gear position ECU etc... You will need this harness along with the Motec dash to enable the no-lift shift. If the comp coupe is older you will need to update the main dash harness to the 50IO harness. All of this works in conjunction with the Dodge ECU. There is no need to upgrade to a standalone Motec ECU to achieve no-lift to shift. The Dodge ECU will need reprogrammed.

The 50IO harness will give additional inputs for logging that can be used for things like shock potentiometers. Another upgrade that can be made is to go with a Pro-logging enabled dash.

We are installing this Emco with the clutch, slave, 50IO harness, no-lift harness and Dodge ECU Reflash.

New Forgeline wheels. They are 22lbs for the wheel and 49lbs with the tire. Tires are Hoosier R6 315 and 335.

Tell Scott he can still come play with us at NARRA events. He would be in the GT1 class or maybe the GTU(unlimited) but we would love to have him come out an play. With all those goodies you guys put into that beast he will be very competitive. Would sure love to see Scott at Sebring next month. It would be equally great to have a McCann rig back in the padock.
