Brad,Jim,Andy and Clint...

Exactly my sentiment...DC IS reading this thread everyday and each different post represents another voice of safety concern. There are "other" things being done that take almost as much time to work as it takes this thread to reach all the Viper owners that use this board as well as those owners that just hear about the issue second hand. As long as the thread stays alive, and other work gets done, than all of the Viper owners will have an equal chance to have their belts inspected for possible problems.
Please be patient...have faith...and keep posting.

Keep this thread in front of the Viper nation...we will get resolution.

DC,
INFO on this NOW please!!!
I wear my aftermarket 5 pts in the viper so I am more concerned
about my family in a 98 Dodge Sport minivan.

So a response, good, bad or otherwise would be appreciated at this point.

How many days, (posts) do you need to get before we get some
indication that your at least hearing us, SCREAM!! INFO ON THIS PLEASE!! What are you going to do to remedy the problem?

Notice to those representatives of DC that read this board:

Interesting that I just received a recall notice from Lincoln(Navigator)stating that I will need to get a problem fixed concerning my seatbelt system. Recall letter was polite and delivered to me directly from Lincoln. Well done Ford...
Now...DC...how about you following some of your manufacturing brethren? It's easy. Just take a cup of concern and mix it with some real world reality and allow your Viper owners(and others) the opportunity to replace a faulty beltsystem. We know you CAN do it...now show us that you WANT to.

Here's the original message that Clark posted, just so those who skip right to this last page can read it:

quote:

PrimeTime(Thursday-3-7-02) had an interesting story that concerns Viper owners that have 1995-1996-1997 and 2002 cars. The story concerned a man that was hit broadside in his Chrysler minivan and was ejected from the vehicle during a rollover. The man died and the police reported that he was NOT buckled into the seat with the stock belt. The victims family sued Chrysler, etc. and the court ruled in favor of the plaintiff. The jury found that the man WAS buckled into the seat and that during the rollover it was apparent that he had pushed against the beltbutton on the seatbelt latch and the belt had released...ejecting him from the car. If you will look at the abcnews.com website you will see a list of Dodge-Chrysler cars that have this Gen3 belt system. The above listed Vipers fall in this group. Chrysler has disavowed the problems with these belts but many, many studies have shown that they are VERY prone to accidental release.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend.

Clark:

Have you received ANY feedback from your legal counsel on this? Do we all need to get legal action against DC before they listen to us?

I guess that they just want us to go away and trade in our Vipers on a new Ford GT-40, and get out of their hair...

The lights are on, but nobody's home... WAKE UP!!!

Hi Clark:

Thanks for the feedback on your meetings. I am glad to hear that this issue is not falling on deaf ears (although you would never guess that from reading this thread).

I wonder if the SRT-10's will have the Gen 1 seatbelts? It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they did.

Keep up the good fight.
