Maybe he couldn't stand having a car out there representing Viperdom with a V8 in it, and wanted to put the universe back into harmony by installing a proper V10 ?

My understanding was that Dodge insisted all three Defenders
and both RT mules were to be crushed after production.

There have been a couple of Defender replicas made by the
company that original designed them, but there were never
on screen. If you are interested in bidding I would advise
a DETAILED background on both the car and seller - buyer
    beware.

    without a V10, it isn't a Viper.

This Show made me a Viperholic, It taught me how to drive, It brought me into American cars. I just loved the sound the Viper made in the show... just to grow up and finding out its not a Viper sound :(

Still, Loved that metal burping sound -V-

Strictly speaking only a few body panels and wheels were
"Viper" on the Defender. It was a Ford chassis modified for
stunt work and easy on-site repairs.
