Re: WWW.SCCAFORUMS.COM, New Site!!

Hey Dave:

What classes do Vipers run in? I've heard that the Vipers have not historically done well in SCCA events, is this true? Is it because of the formats, classifications or the tracks?

Thanks for your feedback. happy New Years.

Actually Viper have done well in both Autocross, T-1 and World Challange. That is, even though the rules are scewed, to try to prevent them from winning. Vipers seem to make good (expensive though) racecars. Ask any most SCCA racers what they think and they will harp for hours why the Vipers have no buisness autocrossing because they are to big and heavy etc... that is until they get smoked by one. That's when the re-classifications start, to get it out of their class.

Dave and Rick:

Thanks for the feedback. I've been reading the SCCA magazine on and off for years, and you just never hear about Vipers competing. It sounds like the same old story of being regulated out of the different classes. I also heard that Vipers were too big a car to run the tighter SCCA slalom courses.

I really appreciate the feedback. Happy New Years.
