A few things I noticed when comparing the specifications with the early preliminary specs....

Unless it's an oversight (and it could well be) the 6 vent hood is not shown as an available option for GTS. (The space is blank.)
Rear applique is now available in body color for GTS when no stripes are ordered.
Both Hyper Black and Matte Black finishes are available for the wheels for both Viper and Viper GTS when the track pack option is selected.
It looks like the black calipers will still remain for Viper, even though what we are now seeing on both versions are the red calipers.
Aero Package is now listed.

I was thinking that the 0-60 would be a tick or two better. 3.5? Isn't that was a Gen IV did? Quarter mile should be way better than 11.5.

Very nice brochure. Now they need to go back to Hawaii and remake the video with a Gen V.

It's not an oversight. The Base SRT hood is NOT an available option for the GTS despite what everyone thought. I was told by Graham at Conner that it was decided to keep the two hoods distinctive to their models at least for the first year.

Bottom line is, if you want the cooler hood, you are forced to pay $22k less.

Based on what I'm reading, the engineers actually did in fact take our suggestions from VOI. Pretty awesome!

hard to get sub 3.5 with just RWD, IMO. Especially front "Mid" engined car.

I disagree. The weight distribution is the same as a vette and the fact that this car was supposed to have better suspension, gearing, tires, and launch control. Keep in mind ZR1 is advertised as 3.3. Anyone that says they aren't disappointed that straight line performance hasn't improved is lying.

Possibly so, but then again the brochure says "estimated" - perhaps we will see closer to 3.0 once it is "official."

One of my comments to the engineers was that I really liked the yellow car because the rear was all body color and did not have that black band going across the back end. Not saying it was soley me, but they were actually interested in what we were saying. I also think I'd love an all black car, because it will minimize the horizontal seam where the hood meets the fender. That's the only seam that bothers me on this car. I love how the Gen I and II cars did not have that seam. I also realize that drives production costs up big time. Anyway, even if it was a coincidence, those guys at VOI made us feel that they really had a genuine interest in our feedback. Pretty amazing if you ask me.

Brochures don't win races, wait till the car hits the streets and the track before you start crying.

The reason everyone thought the 6 vent hood was going to be optional for the GTS is that we were told in the press release at the reveal in New York and also in the Preliminary Feature Availability chart in Viper Magazine. It would not surprise me if the reason it was dropped was the difficulty or inability of the vendor to supply enough of the hood. That's probably why Graham would say "at least for the first year". But as an SRT buyer, I like your bottom line....if you want the cooler hood, you are forced to pay $22K less! I like the fact that it is exclusive to the SRT---there are going to be some perspective GTS buyers with a decision to make.....

Numbers are WAY conservative. A Gen 3 can do 0-60 in 3.8 with modern PS2s, 3.9 on run-flats. Gen 4 3.5, so a Gen V with launch control should be able to go LOW 3s.

Oh ye of little faith. For years we have all basked in the fact that Dodge ( now SRT ) has always erred on the conservative side then shocked folks with what their vehicles would do , as well as the power they put out.

Best way to keep the competition at bay it not to overly gloat. On GM paper the ZR1 was supposedly faster than a Viper. On a German race track that was proven false.

When we were at Arrow Racing recently , not a single motor was close to 640 on the Dyno -they were oh-ver!! Let's say they were being CC ( Chrysler conservative ) , but I applaud the guys/gals at SRT for being discreet -- just makes for more pleasant surprises when the car comes out. Having driven the new Snake , not worried about any Bowtie bodied wee-hickles.

No lack of faith here, I think "estimated" says it all :D
