launchin my year 2001 honda CBR-929 rr erion race edition at my local drag strip. i have a NOS dry nitrous kit and spray a 40 horsepower shot of nitrous when i shift into 2nd gear at the track. i stay on the nitrous all the way through the end of the 1/4 mile. i dyno'd 169 rwhp and 92 rwtq on the juice. my best 1/4 mile time so far is 10.70 @ 142 mph at a track elevation of 3100 feet above sea level. i get some killer power wheelies on and off the bottle with this bike as she only weighs 425 lbs soaking wet. i have ridden this bike to a top speed of 178 mph (gps verified) spraying a 40 horse shot of nitrous in 6th gear. i hit 11,500 rpm's when a spark plug let go and she holed the #1 piston with nitrous flowin. the run had to be aborted. she went up in smoke at 178 mph in a big cloud of oil blow-by smoke and was shot down in flames in a blaze of glory. if the motor didn't blow i would have hit 185 mph at 12,000 rpm's. may she R.I.P. UPDATE - this bike has been resurrected. the motor was rebuilt with JE forged pistons at 12.5:1 compression ratio. she got stretched, slammed and strapped thanx to trak-dynamics. low 10's here we come!
