Second gear when cold?

,,,is it difficult to get into gear? Mine is tough, concerns??? Is it Ok to run in second to speed up the warm up process for second gear? Double clutching is also ify. When warmed up it is fine.

I have not noticed the sypmtoms you describe. It may be that it is a little colder where you are, but I wouldn't think by much.

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">I have the same problem (since new) and the before mentioned aluminum shift forks.

I don't think it's the forks, as if it was I don't think it would go away after the oil is warmed up.

From what I'm told, bent forks result in the trans popping out of gear. </FONT f>

Aside from any mechanical problems with a given transmission, our Vipers with Castrol Syntorq as factory tranny fill are DEFINITELY harder to shift when cold...especially 1st to 2nd...than the Vipers with Dexron IIe or III or IV.

...There is a Warning sticker on the transmission "changing oil other than factory will void warrenty". keeping the RPM down, and in seconed gear sure will help warm up the trans. oil to operating viscosity, and should not harm your car, for the short duration.
