Has anyone heard of using a mixture of jet fuel and Menstal (sp) oil in their gas tank?

Here are my questions...

1) Will this hurt my Viper?

2) How much jet fuel and how much if an oil ratio do I want?

3) Does this make a performance difference?

A guy I know races cars and told me this makes a noticeable difference in your car's performance. Sounded a bit odd to me, does anyone else know anything more on this?

Jet fuel is basically kerosene. It will have a noticeable effect on performance -- you car won't start

I assume you're talking about AvGas, which is used in prop planes. This particular topic has been beaten to death in other forums, but the net seems to be:
1) the higher octane of AvGas will not help the performance of any non-turbo street engine beyond what could be obtained with 93-octane premium;
2) the lead levels in even "Low Lead" AvGas will destroy your O2 sensors, leading to a noticeable degredation in performance;

Bottom line: if you have a NA street engine, use 93 octane. If you have a modified turbo street engine, you'll benefit from 100-octane unleaded race gas. If you have an airplane, use AvGas.

You would be out of your mind to even consider putting some kind of weird mix like that in your snake. Higher octane mixtures are meaningless unless your vehicle timing has been altered. You would be best off on a stock viper, or even one with somewhat substantial mods, to stick with regular 93-94 octane pump gas.

I have seen what happens when some idiot adds diesel,kero etc to a gas tank.Usually a fine injector mist is not maintained.The fuel drops out and coats or runs down the intake manifold to the intake port.Eventualy lights up and ends up making a very nice bonfire at the top of the engine.let us know when you plan on trying this experiment.Are you going to sell tickets?We will bring the marshmalos and hot dogs to roast. VPFuels make some 95 and 103 unleaded fuels for your street car, I picked up 40hp in my SC Prowler with the 103. There are a ton of additives in these fuels and oxygenators, you will see a performance gain, I use the 103 and mix 50/50(playing on the street). Dyno or dyno/butt will feel the difference. Waiting to get a few more miles on the Viper before playing on the Dyno, 2675 miles in 33 days.

I have experimented with using nitroglycerin and dibutyl-cyclopentene but have had mixed results. I know shell gas is good to experiment with due to its lack of detergents. But its a push rod, low compression 2 valve gas motor. I dont think its THAT picky. Alot of high-octane gasoline, like all high-test varieties, contains cleaning agents and other additives designed to improve driveability characteristics so be careful what you mix. Alot of ideas of what to add to your gas could "blow up in your face" because of the cleaning agents and detergents that are present in most gas.

It is my understanding that if you increase the octane level of your fuel, it will have NO effect on your car. The Viper and all other new car computers will retard the timing to compensate for the higher octane. The computer wants 92 octane and will adjust the timing to match this level.

Everyone thanks for the advice. For the record, it was not jet fuel he was talking about it was avgas(sp). But, I still don't think I want to mess around with my car that much. Knowing me, my Viper will become a 50,000 dollar ball of flames if I where to attempt to do this. Sorry, but I think I will stick with the good old 93 and play it safe. The VP racing fuel sounds interesting, but I don't know where I would find some and I don't know if that is a good idea either.

Thanks for the good advice guys/girls.
