I have not witnessed such stupidity in years. It is as if God has sent him to us to make us laugh. What a joke!

Hey Keith. Do you still sell the air bleeders for Vipers? (At least something productive can come from this post)

I CLEARLY AM NOT GETTING MY POINT ACROSS!!

I AM NOT TRYING TO IMPRESS ANYONE OR BRAG..

I AM NOT TRYING TO SAY THAT I AM GREAT, SUPER SMART OR RICH..

I AM NOT!!

I AM ONLY TRYING TO SAY THAT I AM A CAR NUT WITH SOME UNIQUE EXPERIENCE...

I LIKE ALL FAST CARS..

I STARTED COLLECTING IN 1980 AND BY 1989 I HAD COLLECTED 30+ CARS INCLUDING,

MUSCLE CARS:
427 COBRA
HURST OLD W-30 CONV
CHEVELLE LS-6 CONV
CUDA 383 CONV
BUICK STAGE-I CONV
SHELBY KR CONV

EXOTIC CARS:
FERRARI 330 GTS
FERRARI 365 GBT4 DAYTONA
246 GTS DINO SPYDER

EURO CARS
XKE ROADSTER SERIES 1
XKE V-12 ROADSTER
MERCEDES 280SL
MERCEDES 300SEL 6.3
MERCEDES 6.9
MERCEDES 3.5 CONV

PORSCHE:
550 SPYDER
CARRERA SPEEDSTER
930 TURBO CARRERA
911 2.7 RS

AGAIN I AM NOT TRYING TO SAY ANYTHING OTHER THAN THAT I HAVE WORKED HARD AND HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY AND FORTUNATE (THATS IS ALL) TO HAVE OWNED THESE GREAT CARS, MOST AT THE SAME TIME.

WHEN YOU CAN DRIVE A 427 COBRA, AN E JAG,A V-12 FERRARI AND A PORSCHE ALL ON THE SAME DAY... THIS GIVES YOU A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE ON EXACTLY HOW EACH CAR PERFORMS...

MOST PEOPLE AND/OR MAGAZINE ARTICLES MAKE COMPARISONS OF CARS DRIVEN WEEKS,MONTHS OR EVEN YEARS APART..HOW CAN THIS BE ACCURATE?..

NORMALLY WHEN OTHER CAR GUYS HEARD ABOUT THE COLLECTION THEY WANTED TO COME BY AND SEE THE CARS.. I HAD NO PROBLEM LETTING OTHER PEOPLE DRIVE MY CARS JUST FOR FUN.. I USED TO GET CALLS FROM PEOPLE THAT I DIDNT KNOW WHO WANTED TO SEE THE CARS OR NEEDED ADVICE ON BUYING, RESTORATIONS,PARTS ETC..I HAVE SPENT HOURS HELPING THEM..

MOST OF MY BEST FRIENDS HAVE COME DIRECTLY FROM OUR MUTUAL INTEREST IN FAST CARS. MY BEST FRIEND AND BUSINESS PARTNER FIRST MET ME AT A POOL PARTY FOR OUR KIDS. HE ASKED ME IF I KNEW THE GUY IN MALIBU THAT HAD THIS GREAT CAR COLLECTION...

AFTER 5 MNINUTES IN MY VIPER..ANOTHER FRIEND OF MINE IS DYING TO FIND A BLACK 2000 RT-10 TO BUY..

AGAIN IF SOME OF YOU ARE OFFENDED OR THINK THAT I AM BRAGGING, I AM NOT..
IF ANY OF YOU DONT BELIEVE MY COLLECTION I CAN EMAIL YOU A PROOF OF INSURANCE LIST WITH DECRIPTIONS AND CHASSIS #S

I LOVE THE VIPERS!

MOST OF YOU GUYS DONT WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW OTHER THAN THE VIPER IS PERFECT....

What they said - its a dynamic graphic image that displays any information it can get for you. The data isnt recorded and the only person who "sees" your information is YOU!

It also displays a random quote each time you look at it from a couple of my favorite movies.

Quite clearly!

I too own a nice little collection of cars, as do MANY people on this board. In fact, I believe that Viper owners, relative to other loyalists, are more likely to own such collections.

But someone seems to have forgotten to send me my new membership card - the one that entitles me to belittle other folks who haven't been as fortunate as I have. Seems like a pretty special little club.

What I cannot understand is why you continue to rattle off ownership experience, pat yourself on the back with your evidently vast knowledge of exotics and their limits, fluff yourself up by insisting that you're practically the mayor of CarTown, USA but are quick to point out that you're not here to brag or ruffle feathers.

Look at your first post - you take aim at a few stand up guys here who have done nothing but help and nurture quite a few of us newbie Snake Tamers, and you seem perplexed as to why in the world you're receiving backlash...I meet very few dedicated car nuts who are more into the AUTOMOBILE than the particular marquee. You sound more like the fella who ties one of his cars on to impress, depending on the mood of the day. Most true enthusiasts I know would never insinuate or even assume that the people of this board (in particular) are not car crazy, nor that they may not be just (if not more so) as well heeled - in the strictly hot-rod usage of the term.

But I digress...who am I to argue with...what...7 years of schooling? A lifetime of self assurance that nobody within a twelve mile could possibly possess the collective experience that allows you to not EDUCATE others but crassly INSULT them with that encyclopedic seat of the pants you must now carry around? I never spent a single minute in college - therefore I am CLEARLY unable to understand the breadth of wisdom you could potentially share with us, if you so desired. Hell, from the sounds of it we could slap your @ss in a champ car and take the points lead next year before Paul Tracy knew what hit him!

I certainly hope for your sake that you're comfortable a few things 1) with who you are and 2) that, within the span of just a few scrambled attempts at dialogue, you've managed to alienate yourself amongst fairly like minded individuals.

I don't feel sorry for you - I feel sorry for your cars.

On the contrary - I think that's why most of us love our Vipers! If it was perfect it would coddle me all day, soothe me with heated seats, cruise for me, get 50mpg and do it all so quietly that I could continue to sleep whilst out and about. My ZR1 feels like a luxury cruise ship compared to the Viper and instinctively my reaction is always the same when I hop in the 'vette - it's too nice! I think a lot of folks really enjoy the "imperfect" nature of the Viper - it goes fast and it does it hard. Simply put, it goes fast better than all other cars out there.

Anyhow, the bottom line to this little nugget of wisdom above is simple - you're in a Viper forum. This is where the craziest of the car infatuated come to play with other kids who own the same toy. You can't step in the snake house and start swinging without expecting a few bites...

(BTW - PLEASE keep this going and don't get yourself banned. It truly is an entertaining thread...maybe if you keep trying you'll scratch the surface of the point you're trying to make...)

Yep, still sell 'em - same simple product and the new lot has even better QC (about 4-5 of the first batch had some bad joints at the valve, so it leaked a little). Much easier and more reliable than "burping." I have a set on my GTS and my RT/10.

NEXUS-6,

VERY ELOQUENT POST..

YOU PROBABLY WERE NOT AROUND ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO WHEN I FIRST ASKED A VERY SIMPLE QUESTION..

WHY IS THERE NO GLOVE BOX OR DOOR POCKETS FOR STORAGE IN A VIPER?

I WAS WAS LITERALLY BEATEN TO THE GROUND WITH INSULTS ABOUT HOW THE VIPER IS A MUSCLE CAR AND IF I KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT HI-PO MUSCLE CARS ETC...

A WEEK LATER THE 56HP PER LITER NUMBERS THAT I DISCUSSED WAS TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM A DC VIPER SPEC SHEET..

AGAIN I GOT HAMMERED AND SEVERELY INSULTED FOR USING THE HP/LITER NUMBERS... AND HOW I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BIG CUBIC INCH MOTORS..

THE IDEA OF A GLOVE BOX AND MORE POWER MUST HAVE HAD SOME MERIT BECAUSE THE SRT-10 HAS BOTH!!

IT SEEMS LIKE IN OTHER FORUMS THAT IF THE IDEA OF AN UPGRADE OR MORE POWERFUL MODEL IS DISCUSSED THAT IT IS GENERALLY ACCEPTED AS A GOOD IDEA AND AND NOT A BASH..

VERY VERY FEW PORSCHE GUYS WILL EVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD OR JUSTIFY A GT-1 OR GT-2 BUT MENTION THE IDEA OF A GT-3 AND THEY LOVE IT..

THE IDEA OF A "SUPER" VIPER FROM DC DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ACCEPTED A AS POSITIVE IDEA IN THIS FORUM..

ENOUGH SAID.

There is, have one of your servants take a peek between the seats. HINT, it's under the speaker!

You deserved it with the way you approached the board and its members. You should have lurked longer. As far as I'm concerned, you know cars like you know your *** from a hole in the ground.

A WEEK LATER THE 56HP PER LITER NUMBERS THAT I DISCUSSED WAS TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM A DC VIPER SPEC SHEET..

Congrats you can read! You know have teh title of MASTER OF THE OBVIOUS!

AGAIN I GOT HAMMERED AND SEVERELY INSULTED FOR USING THE HP/LITER NUMBERS... AND HOW I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BIG CUBIC INCH MOTORS..

You don't know anything. If you did, you'd know that the Viper produces one of the best hp/liter numbers of all big block cars produced.

THE IDEA OF A GLOVE BOX AND MORE POWER MUST HAVE HAD SOME MERIT BECAUSE THE SRT-10 HAS BOTH!![/b

You're an idiot

IT SEEMS LIKE IN OTHER FORUMS THAT IF THE IDEA OF AN UPGRADE OR MORE POWERFUL MODEL IS DISCUSSED THAT IT IS GENERALLY ACCEPTED AS A GOOD IDEA AND AND NOT A BASH..

There is a whole world of aftermarket companies, take your needs up with them.

VERY VERY FEW PORSCHE GUYS WILL EVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD OR JUSTIFY A GT-1 OR GT-2 BUT MENTION THE IDEA OF A GT-3 AND THEY LOVE IT..

And your point is?

THE IDEA OF A "SUPER" VIPER FROM DC DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ACCEPTED A AS POSITIVE IDEA IN THIS FORUM..

Do a search, you'll actually see concept drawings, NOOB

ENOUGH SAID.

Will you be my new god?

EXEC i don't think you get the message most owners don't give a shilt, they are happy with their viper. If they want more power they turn to the tuners, so why beat a dead horse move on to the next subject.

I'm sorry but the all caps thing just inherently make your "points" and posts seem more inflammatory than you probably intend.

And P.J., not to defend EXECutemyself, three garages full of cars does not mean a three car garage.

I'm not so sure - for me, for example, the idea of a "super" Viper sounds great! Sign me up!
smile.gif

But there's a big difference between a super Viper and a super refined Viper...I can only speak for myself but, to me, the lack of a "real" glovebox (there is a small cubby that works just fine for holding the bits of legality I need to go fast) and door storage (glad there isn't room for anything not related to the act of driving) aren't the kinds of complaints most Viper enthusiasts think about or share.

I'm certain there are quite a few people that agree that such things are expected in today's cars but it's not something I'd ever wish for myself. When I slip into the Viper it's to pilot a cruise missile...not to run to the grocery store or honestly perform any kind of utilitarian errand. I have a sort of baseline rule with my Viper - I don't return to the house with anything that I didn't take with me when I left. But I use the Viper for one purpose only - I understand that other people are going to use it for others.

This brings up an interesting question to me: your experience in your Cobra has to be similar to this - did you or do you ever wish for more storage space in your Cobra?

I think that if someone is looking at a Viper as a daily driver and something that must cater to daily driving needs then you'll be disappointed or frustrated *IF* you expect it to do all of the things a normal "civilian" car can do.

For me, part of the Viper romance is the fact that it's a purpose built machine and that there's little in the cockpit to distract me from the task at hand - driving the coolest car in the world. You have to understand that the way in which you're attempting to bring another point to the table is simply harsh - if you walk into a bar with your dukes up you gotta expect some angry patrons!

And for what it's worth, the netting/pockets on the front of the seats work better than door storage ever could!

NEXUS-6,
I WAS NEVER SAYING THAT THIS WAS A MAJOR FLAW..

IF I PUT THE REGISTRATION,PROOF OF INSUANCE AND CDs IN THE CENTER BOX IT IS FULL AND ALSO NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET TO WHEN DRIVING..

BELEIVE IT OR NOT ALL OF THE OTHER CARS (INCLUDING THE COBRA) IN THE COLLECTION HAS A GLOVE BOX AND SIDE POCKETS..(SPEEDSTER POCKETS ONLY)

THIS IS THE 21ST CENTURY AND ALTHOUGH I USUALLY ONLY TAKE THE VIPER OUT WITH MY SON FOR A FAST BURN THROUGH OUR 10 LOCAL CANYONS.. ..

A PLACE TO PUT YOUR OWNERS MANUAL (NOT BEHIND THE SEAT), HOUSE KEYS,WALLET(WITH BAIL MONEY), REMOTE OPENER, CELL PHONE,TIRE GAUGE,FLASH-LIGHT ETC ETC.. WOULD BE NICE..

IN ADDITION I JUST HEARD THAT A BUDDY DELIVERED A NEW S600 THAT IS A "FACTORY" TWIN TURBO CHARGED V-12...

CURRENTLY DC HAS AVAILABLE A SUPER-CHARGED V-8 @ 465HP AND NOW ALSO A TWIN TURBO V-12 @500HP PLUS 570LBS OF TORQUE!

THE DC GUYS OBVIOUSLY HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY TO AD A S/C OR TURBOS TO THE SNAKE!!

TO THE GUYS THAT INSIST ON THAT I GO TO A TUNER..IT WONT HAPPEN!..

ALL OF MY CARS ARE ORIGINAL WITH ONLY THE "MODS" AVAILABLE FROM THE FACTORY AS OPTIONS..

A STOCK "FACTORY" HI-PO,COPO, YENKO, THUNDERBOLT,SHELBY OR HURST CAR IS WORTH MUCH MORE AND IS WAY MORE INTERESTING TO ME THAN A 700HP+ CAR THAT HAS BEEN MODDED TO DEATH AND HAS A 671 BLOWER STICKING THROUGH THE HOOD!!
