How are they installed? I have a set that I purchased from
Autoform and am hesitant to screw into my fascia. Has
anyone tried a high performance adhesive?? 3m double
sided adhesive maybe??

Craig,

Being a Mopar guy and "purist" I understand where pops is coming from. The only time I'd have those wire hubcaps on that car is at the Mopar Nationals in the judged area and that's it. That car DESERVES 15" Ralleyes with a set of Polyglas RWL tires on it. I remember a 73 Charger SE Brougham that a neighbor had in the seventies and it had those exact same stock hubcaps. Looked ok on that car. Shaker hoods and wire hubcaps don't jive...lol...that Cuda is breathtaking though...I think I need a shot from an asthma inhaler... :usa:

GT2 dive plates (canards, winglets) is correct. I have mine mounted with heavy duty body molding tape for now...I too was (am) hesitant to do any drilling just yet. I figured this way I can make sure they are in the right place, symetrically mounted, and that I like them. The original GT2 dive plates are, I believe, mounted with three(3) fascia penetrations each. When the time comes I figure I can drill the pilot holes with the winglets mounted as they are, then remove them. Once removed I can get rid of the body molding tape and mount them. I am still on the fence about keeping them...as well as painting them red if I do keep them.

I bought mine from a private party...but JonB has them (I think).

Tony,

I've been meaning to ask - did you happen to get your viper from a guy named Keith here in MN ?

As a matter fact.....yes, I bought it from Keith back in June '99 just after VOI5. In fact...I have one of the VOI panoramic posters that has the car in it. This is the longest I have EVER owned any vehicle! :)

Upon reflection....you and I swapped e-mails when I was looking at the car back then. :) I think it was you who sent me pictures of the car before the stripes and wing....with black HRE's (if I recall correctly). :)

tony, i agree the screwing them into the fascia is troubling.
the tape option seems better if they stay in place.

Gerald... here comes the big poser question how much?
and did they come painted?
are you using tape or screws?

I think they were only $125, I know they come unpainted, and I since I plan on being buried in my RT, I will permanently mount them...no tape...wouldn't wanna loose them!

Sorry Tony, forgot about the discussion. I kind of remember that Keith was talking to some guy outside of the US, and that you were in the mix somehow. That car has a really strong motor, and I always liked the black stripes on the red. I have a few pics of it if you are interested.

Gerald....did you go and get some canards as well? The initial idea of the tape was to make sure I had them in the right place before I drilled (when it comes to that). I figured that once I knew they were right where I wanted them I could drill them on the spot, with a small bit. Instead of trying to hold them up there and hope I got it right. The tape and all should also help to make a nice clean hole. Since I am KING POSER I will wait for you to do yours and listen to your "lessons learned". :) My front splitter should be sorted out here this week...I hope!

Jim, any and all pictures are welcome! Should I send you my address? Yes, I was in Italy when I bought the car, and Keith did a great job. At the time it seemed MUCH easier to buy a used Viper. Paul Ronald and I drove out from WA and trailered the car back to Seattle. Paul still has that trailer!! You see much of Keith at all these days?

What are we getting next Gerald? :) I have a hankerin' for an autoform roll bar. I'd get more power...but I already have enough to just sit there and LOOK good (POSE)!!!! LOL

Tony,

Email me and I will reply with a few pix. Or, help me figure out how to upload images on this board and I'll post them.
