Thank you to whoever recommended a couple weeks ago 3m wax for light scratches. I used it and it got rid of all my light/med scratches and my car looks like glass now. I tried Zaino prior but it did nothing to remove them.

Thanks again!

Can you post the 3M number and where you bought it? I looked for 3M products this past weekend and struck out. Thanks

Zaino does not remove scratches, because it has no abrasives. What Zaino does is fills them in and tries to hide them without removing the prtective clear coat. The 3M product is much better at removing scratches because it has abrasives. There are two types of swirl removers in the 3M line. One is for darker cars and the other is for lighter cars.

The best way to go is to use the 3M product to remove your scratches and then protect the clear coat and paint with Zaino. That is the best combo I've found. Do not use the 3M product everytime you wax your car or you will completely remove your clear coat. It is very close to wet sanding at about 2000 grit.

Yep I agree with CODY and I only used it on the places I had scratches. Then used Zaino on entire car.

I will try and find part number on the wax.

Please try to find that number... I have not had luck with Zaino removing swirl marks. It sure makes the swirl marks shine, though :)

I just ordered one from the local NAPA Autoparts store (they were out, but should have more in stock tomorrow morning). $12.99

I'll probably use that, and then cover it with Zaino Z5 or Z2 (whichever that final step was).

Hey guys, don't forget to use clay and lubricant on the finish before you wax. If you don't use clay, you'll be waxing over microscopic contaminates in the clear coat.

I just ordered some from my brother-in-law. He is going to drop it off tonight. I will take before and after pictures to show how well it works.

As a change off from Zaino you may want to try Formula 113 Polish. This polish works great as a final step and the results are long lasting.

HOLY COW! This stuff just works! Used the cleaner wax first after washing with dawn to remove old wax. Also used a random orbital and any hint of the few swirl marks are completely gone . Finished off with the 3M Perfect-It Show Car Wax and the results are simply stunning!

I did try this stuff first on my 99 Jeep and have been very happy with the lasting results as well. :headbang:

And I wish to thank whoever also. Tried it on my Red 94 today, what a difference even without the Zaino applied on top of it :D . It removed the swirls and minor scratches. Great product Thanks 3M. :2tu:

I also recomend to you guys, if you havent already, pick up a California Water Blade. It cuts drying time down, and also keeps swirls to a minimum because the blade will not scratch the car- towels will.

Just a note, I've put serious scratches on two of my vehicles with a California water blade! Both had to be professionally buffed out. What happens is that you think the car is totally clean, or a small piece of grit gets blown onto the wet surface somewhere, and it gets picked up by the soft plastic of the blade, and next thing you know your car has a nice fine scratch line.
I threw mine in the frickin' trash can after that!!

Yep, I've always been paranoid about the waterblade. I used it, though, because it was better than using a towel.

Now, I just use the Mr. Clean Autodry...

I tried the water blade and hated it. I use an Absorber- just place it on the paint and lift off- no movement against the paint.

I use a leaf blower. Blows all the water off and you don't have to touch it with rags etc. I follow with Zaino Gloss Enhancer.
