What is the liquid filled orangish tube in the headlights?

Just curious what it is for. Why does it have liquid in it?

It's a gage for when you pop wheelies in your Viper. If you start to go up too high it will cut off fuel to the engine to prevent you from dragging your rear facia on the street. :)

Mike - you can't be that naive can you?

If you are then truthfuly it is for leveling the headlamps. Open the hood on just about any other car and you will see similar levels. They are just normally hidden when the hood is closed.

But on the other hand if you are just exercising the keyboard ... they are lasers for nailing slow cars in the left hand lane.

I really didn't know what they were for. That makes sense now. Thanks.

My driveway is slanted so it wouldn't work for me tho.

Come on guys -- he really wants to know. Mike, if you look in the little hatch between the seats there is a switch that turns those babies on. Be careful though, because when they light up they are lethal. They are only to be used if someone pulls you in a race. That's how we've kept our perfect record, no other brand of car "has been known" to beat a Viper (of course a few have disappeared). Just don't get over zealous and turn them on a Viper buddy that might have pulled you! Remember you have taken an oath never to let our little secret out . . .

Great answers and now I am going to the Viper cave to try then out the in the dark. I saw the small switch but was never in a safe place to activate it.
coolant, drag strip leveler, G Force, could it be that they are all of the above and that is why everyone had a different answer because no one has actually used every option available for them?
That's what I get for not finishing my new owners manual, just didn't know.

Had to do with aiming headlights, if it is set up right at the headlight manufacturer.... of which most sadly were not. So, since it really does not work well for that, it can be used to induce shock and awe as both a laser weapon and a 60K garage floor level.

Why did I know that this thread would get merged with the hood speaker thread . . .?!!! Oh well, they've been the two most entertaining threads on the site for quite some time. :2tu:
