Hey all,
I’ve been lurking around this site since last July when I bought my 2002 Graphite GTS from Bill Pemberton and I figured it was high time I chime in. This beauty only had 17 miles on her and after Bill gave me a deal I couldn’t refuse she had to be mine. This car had apparently spent some time in Australia waiting to get converted to a right side driver and never made the switch. She got sent back to Woodhouse and then into my hands. 2900 miles later I’m still in love with this thing. I stopped driving my Porsche 911 the day after I bought this beauty and the 911 dust collector is now for sale.
Hopefully I’ll be able to figure out how to post a pic as one of my buddies took what I think is a fairly cool photo. His 3 boys play on a hockey team here in Omaha called the Vipers. I met all of the kids on the team and they took a team picture around my car. When I was about to leave I burned a cookie in the big empty parking lot of the ice rink and my buddy took a snapshot.
Another motivating factor to finally get on the board is that I will be leaving for Iraq in a few weeks and I wanted to say hi to everyone before I do so. I’m not sure what internet access I’ll have available once I leave this great country. I’m an emergency physician with the Army and will be supporting the 1-41 Infantry in the southern part of Iraq near Najaf. A year is just too long to spend away from my wife and kids(2 boys and one on the way) and of course I will dearly miss my Viper. I’m hopeful that there is power in numbers when it comes to prayers and if I can recruit some prayers out of all you for all of the soldiers deployed that will certainly help.
Thanks for your time. Now that I’m registered I look forward to chiming in more often.

Wow! Impressive picture on your first post, and didn't even have to ask how to do it. Guess you'll be about the 1st to loose your newbie status on the first post! :) We'll keep you, your family, and our country in our prayers.

Love the look of that car, Darin. Glad you're on board and have that grin of a new owner. Keep posting, we're with you now and as you go overseas.

Welcome, and thank you very much for your service. Far too many people take what the military does for granted God bless you and our country.

Bring your buddies in the service some pictures and videos of the Viper and when you are feeling down pull out a picture of your family and then the Viper. When you see the picture of the Viper you will know all the Viper owners are praying for you and the rest of the troops!

Good luck......

Darin,
I showed my wife the pic of your burn out and she said, "What's wrong with his car?"
I said, "Thay all do that."

Darin,
Great pic. I take it you just ordered a new set of rear Pilots? Good luck to you overseas. Yes, take pictures of your Viper with you with MADE IN AMERICA stamped across the front. Please let the troops that are already there know that the media's portrait of this war and the average American's is very different. We know you are all facing a very difficult task in a difficult environment. We know you are doing it to protect freedom and the innocent. The people that I'm surrounded by in my life support the troops 1,000%, unconditionally. God bless you and the rest of our troops and God bless America.
