While out for a cruise on Sat, I made a stop to see a friend who is a Speciality Car dealer. He Usually has over 100 Muscle Cars... Nice Vipers, vettes, cobras, chevelles, 67 big block vettes, etc...he even has an 87 grand national with 5k miles..mint. 64 Chev Impala with 14K miles.

After chatting for a while I was heading to my GTS and had a father/son admiring my Viper. The little guy was about 7 years old and was just all smiles and wide eyed. I asked him if he wanted to sit in it, and he made no hesistation. He sat down and was about eye level with the steering wheel. The look on his face was PRICELESS , as I remembered when I was that age and admired muscle cars way back then. He kept saying, your car is so cool. What a time to "not" have my digital camera. He thanked me and was a little gentleman, his dad and I chatted and thanked me. As I am pulling out I see that they are now across the street sitting and watching me, I wound it up and hit second gear hard and spun the tires for the little guy. His expressions were PRICELESS. Remember what a childs face looks like on Christmas Morning? This was 10 times better.

Seeing that little guys expressions really made me happy and proud to be a Viper owner. I made his day and he made mine. I really enjoyed the moment, and felt blessed to own such a SPECIAL Car.

To cool. Same story happened to me at a car show but I gave the little boy a ride! Viper ownership is like no other. Bet if you had a vette they would have walked right by your car.

Had something similar happened this weekend at Lowe's. Pulled up and parked a good distance away. Came out and there were 7-8 employees surrounding the car. They loved the tag BLWNSNK and had to hear that rumble. They all swear I had changed the cam by the way it sounded. Then, one of them wanted to see the engine bay. Popped the hood, and he creamed in his pants.....literally.......he was in tears and grabbed his camera phone and started clicking away. He then yelled to anybody around that the Viper was SC. Next thing, customers are surrounding the car. A little kid comes running and says that this is his dream car. He says he is always disappointed as whenever he goes to those paid car shows, there are never any Vipers where he can sit in. So, I open the door and told him to jump in.
His face just lit up. He sat in it and thanked me. Dad came up and shook my hand and thanked me. Told me that his kid will never forget this. Made my day. It was funny to see the employee react the way he did. Oh, while all this was going on, there were these two gals that pulled up and asked me if I was married. I said yes, and the passenger threw her hands in the air and just drove off. Funny day.
Viper magnetism I guess.

Fun Stuff.

At the Shreveport event last weekend a little fellow showed up with his dad in tow.... OK, maybe it was the other way around. It turned out he had asked his dad if they could "visit the Vipers".

One of our members spent some time with him, while the other kids in the hotel parking lot were a little "touchy feely", this particular one was polite enough to ask if he could "look at the Viper". This was all it took for Kerry to ask the boys dad if it was OK to give him a ride in his Black GTS..... dad gave the OK, and that is going to be one story told over and over to his friends. Here is the best part, Kerry's wife got it on digital and will be sending the boy a copy on DVD... AND we had a spare give away 1/18 scale Viper at the banquet that he'll be getting to.

We Viper owners get as much fun out of making other people happy as we get out of Viper ownership.
It's just the kind of people we are.
Wonder if "Porsha" owners are that way?

Great stories guys. I was at my local proprietor of adult beverages last summer and this young man (about 14) was standing oustide staring at my car. He was wearing a Viper Tee shirt with a black GTS on it. I asked him if he liked vipers and he grinned like a shark. I picked up quickly and sadly that he was mentaly disabled.

He sat in my car while his parents thanked me. I reached in the glove box and grabed the matchbox RT/10's that someone gave me as a gag gift and handed it to him. He said that "it was best gift he ever received'. To this day, I get swolen when I tell the story.

We are all very fortunate. Lucky are those among us who have the opportunity to share it. :D

Drive safe!

Just another reason to have matchbox/hotwheels Vipers stashed in your Snake. You cannot BELIEVE the smiles you get when you hand the little ones that baby!

Priceless!

Who wants to ride in a Porsche anyway?

Doesn't your local Dodge give out Porsche's as a loaner when the Snake is getting its Oil changed ?

I must do about 3-5 rides a week with local kids, Soccer / BB Ball my kids friends, it makes their day (and mine) and I think it also helps them have more respect for speical things in general, one kid recently said to another "You can look but don't lean on the Viper Man , It's Special !!" This was from a kid who I gave a ride to about a week ago. Keep the Kids involved, they are better for it !

I was once close to being on the receiving side of such a situation, allbeit with a different car. When my dad was stationed in Belgium he and my mom befriended someone who turned out to be really well off. He owned a couple of Lambo. Countach's and found out that it was one of my dream cars. For about 6 months we tried to catch each other at various car shows so I could see the car. For various reasons we never hooked up. Then about a month after I moved back to the states my mom calls to tell me that he arrived at one of the shows and wanted to know where I was. He was gonna let me drive the thing! Needless to say I was heartbroken. Oh well, someday perhaps I will get to be the one that makes someone elses day. Of course it will be with a Viper.

Everybody who sits in my Viper kicks the rocker panel and scratches the paint. I think I have to remember that next time someone asks me if they can sit in the car.
Sorry, just thinking out loud.

One of my favorites was when an unknown lady called and asked if I would show up at her door on her sons birthday and let her get his picture of him sitting in the car. On the given day I drove the 96 and my son followed in the 93. When we got to their house mom, grandpa, grandma and the boy were waiting in the driveway. Well, they were estatic. When we took the boy and mom for rides they were overjoyed but in all honesty I think my son and I had more fun. I think the matchbox toy giveaway is a good idea; I'll have to get a few.

You guys are great ! It really makes me proud to be a Viper owner and hear of other owners generosity. What a great idea to have matchbox cars on hand in the car. I love showing off my car , letting others share the joy of a true work of art .
