well I hope I like the car

I just purchased a Red 04 SRT 10 with 300 miles for 71k.

Mike RObbins has been looking for me one and I accidentally found this one about 10 miles from my house. The guy needed a quick sale. SO I jumped on it and made a offer and I can pick the car up today. If it quits raining.

I feel like this is a great deal the car still smells brand new!

Oh my, Now what to do with 3 vipers?????????????

Hi,
I just joined myself... I was planning on buying an srt-10 weeks ago however, cam-bolt issue scared me away... I put a refundable deposit on an 05 vette.. I was forced to take a different route to work today when I noticed 2 srt-10's at my local dodge dealer... I'm snake bitten again... The salesman assured me that both his cars were built well after bolt issues... are there any other issues i should be aware of? I really love & want this car. Should I just pull the trigger.

thanx

4 vipers..Dr. Roof, you are certifiable! Congratulations on the SRT.
Being new to the Viper forums, I hope to learn a lot here and "join" the SRT owners also. I do have some concerns about the interior heat problems some owners have posted about. I have owned four Corvettes and having recently sold my C5, I think that an SRT is the way to go.

I hate to say it, but the C5 convertible is almost a dead ringer for the SRT. I heard about 55K would be the price. For that amount, you could mod the engine easily up past 500 ponies......but you would still be driving a vette. Nothing wrong with that, except at 35,000 units a year, you'll be generic almost imediately. It's like flying first class vs. cattle car class. It makes a BIG difference. (to me)

I had a chance to sit in a C5 this weekend ,the viper is still in a class by itself, the different that I notice when you are sitting in the car is that the viper just seem to wrap you in it,just like you and the car are made for each other.I don't think anybody will think that the corvette look like the SRT 10 when you see it in person. Most of the vette people that were there were kind of disappointed in the car, also on there 6 speed if you don't put it in reverse when you park it you will run the battery down, least we don't have that problem.

Roof, it warms my heart to know there's someone else out there with even less impulse control than myself :) Congrats on the new purchase! Our SRT has really grown on us, especially after ported heads and intake and 5-points and DRs and ... well, stay tuned - I may have a few suggestions for how you can modify it.

Could someone please clarify the "also on there 6 speed if you don't put it in reverse when you park it you will run the battery down, least we don't have that problem. " statement? I think that I am missing somthing.

***** 13 also said he sat in a C5......I hope he meant C6, since the C5 has been around since '97. The "reverse run battery down" stuff sounds like it's made up.

I did edit my post but they did not change it,it was a C6,and the part about the 6 speed came from a corvette engineer at the corvette caravan this weekend in Panama City, Fla.My wife owns a C5,so that is why we were there ,I have the SRT 10.
