I plan on picking one up from him in person and have him personally sign it for me. He also gets more money from selling them himself. He started the Viper Club of America and pretty much knows everything about the history of the Viper. If you can, buy it from him direct . He deserves the bigger cut. The book company takes all of the money otherwise.
E-mail him at [email protected]

Cool! More Viper info. I read the Amazon info on the link provided but it didn't mention what years it covers. 92 to ? Anyone know? Intro said car has been made for 10 years, so perhaps 92-02.

It is AN AWESOME VIPER Book! We were fortunate enough to obtain a copy at the Monterey Historics last weekend, and my wife and I have read it from cover to cover. Maurice is meticulous about documenting correct technical Viper features and differences between every year (including the 2004s), model and color/interior packages.

In fact, in the book's 'Forward', written by BOB LUTZ, no less(!!), Mr. Lutz praises Maurice for his accuracy and detail, and rightfully credits his personal efforts also for creating our GREAT World-wide Car Club.

The book's photographs are all First Class also - I'm buying MANY copies ...!

Great idea! There's always something to learn you didn't know about.
Many perspective Viper buyers ask me so many questions they seem to be overwhelmed when I tell them the answers. Even after they purchase the vehicle they didn't know if it had certain amenities corresponding to the year of their car.

Thanks for the great idea. As a new Viper shopper this is a must-have I am sure. Should get mine in a day or 2.

My copy is on the way, I look forward to reading it. I'm sure it is full of details.... I spent hours and hours on the phone with him :) The Viper Registry contributed lots of it's raw VIN info and color/model information too. Maurice did his homework for sure, he said he'll have a site up soon, and is selling signed copies for $25.

Here is one chart he found that did not make it into the book, it is Retail Sales By Calendar Year.... note, it it not model year sales, so a given year in this chart is a combination of several different model years AND models (Coupe, Roadster and SRT) of cars that may still be on dealers lots. i.e., Woodhouse Dodge may sell 50-2003's and 75-2004's in a single calendar year, so it's calendar year Viper sales would be "125". Anyway, here's the chart:

Got mine today.
Guys this should be the FIRST thing that we as owners and members of the VCA and this forum should recommend to a potential buyer.

Found something that got past the proofreaders (obviously not Viper enthusiasts!) Page 117 the "SRT Section"-2004-at the bottom of the page "Changes to all 1999 GTSs"
SHOULD be "Changes to all 2004 SRT-10s"

Thanks, I'm guessing it's only in paperback, oh well. I just finished ordering mine and it should be here in a few days.

Maurice writes that the '94 had 3 ribs on the intake manifold. On some e-bay auctions I've seen, some '94's had 4 ribs. Does anyone know if the change was late in the model year?
thanks,
craig
