As most of you know, I was hospitalized in Albuquerque, NM a couple of weeks ago with a Pulmonary Embolism. Evidently it was caused by the long hours driving and the final straw was when I slept in my truck in Atlanta right before I picked up a car. A blood clot formed in my leg and went into both lungs. I tried to "tough" it out for a few days, but finally was forced to go to the hospital. Luckily for me, Bill Rodway (a Viper owner in Albuquerque) took quick action and literally saved my life. The ER doctor told me if I hadn't come in when I did I wouldn't have lived through the weekend.

I'm doing great now and I'm recuperating in Salt Lake City at my brother's house for the next couple of weeks. I wanted to thank everyone for all the phone calls, emails, prayers, and well wishes. It made a big difference especially being in a town where you don't know anybody. I've always been amazed at how the Viper owners stick up for each other and this only reconfirmed what I already knew. I have a lot of friends here and I made a lot of new ones.

For those of you who I had scheduled to transport your car, I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Once again, THANK YOU!!!

Gary, Glad to hear you are doing well. I believe that's what killed David Bloom in Iraq. That's too close for comfort, you gotta slow down some. Go home and drive your Viper, that will blow out your clots. :2tu: :usa:

I'm glad you are doing well. Remember, for all you road warriors out there, take frequent breaks during long hauls. :2tu:

Gary, everybody back at your home base is overjoyed you pulled through. Don't worry about the transport business right now, just get well. Your business has such a great reputation you will be able to resume it whenever you wish.

Gary - next time you get stuck in Atlanta, don't sleep in the truck. Call me and I'll put you up. I'm glad you are doing better.

I feel lucky to have met and befriended such a great guy like Gary. Throughout his stay here in Abq., he was always concerned with his customers and their needs.

Gary's brother, Russ, came down from Salt Lake City to keep him company on the drive, and even he was a great guy as well.

Thanks for the great mexican dinner, and no more hotels in Albuquerque- you'll always have a place to stay at my home!

Gary, Wow!

You know, as successful as your business has become, I think it's past time that you start hiring some trusted friends to help you out with the driving--if you trust them with our cars, then we trust them as well. Life is too good and too short to come that close to losing it all. Don't do that to us or to yourself!

Enjoy your, no doubt revived, appreciation of life and come back to us stronger and wiser than before. Smell the rose man. They are too sweet to miss. And welcome back, if you know what I mean!

Whew!

Best wishes,
Russ

Very glad to hear you are recovering well. Take care of your self and don't let something like this go without care next time.

Hope to see you soon and have a safe trip.

Good to hear from you Gary - glad you can get 2 weeks of R & R in - you've earned a break even if this was not the way any of us would want it to happen.

you'll be a new man for the forced break.

Look forward to seeing you again.
