The latest for the auto show, Acura has announced a high out put version of the NSX. They have developed a street use motor based off their Formula one racing program. It is all aluminum 6.4L V12 that puts out 585 HP with 4 valves per cylinder and titanium connecting rods. The compression ratio is only 9.1 so there is plenty of room for more HP with some mods unlike the Corvette that has a CR of over 11. The chassis is all aluminum and magnesium coming in at 3053lbs. They say that the MSRP will be $58K. They are going to produce 20,000 units/year so these things will be everywhere just like the Corvettes. Anyone who owns a Viper is going to stand out like a sore thumb. Everyone will notice you, its going to be terrible. I ran some errands in the SRT today and I could tell people were looking at me, they know the car is not fast any more. I feel embarrassed driving around town so, I think on Monday I am going to put the SRT up for sale before the price drops to the level of a Corvette. I suggest that everyone do the same.

I don’t know what I am going to do now, I am so depressed. Why isn’t DC doing anything about this? They owe us to not allow other car manufactures to build high performance cars. I have started a new forum at

<a href="http://www.my-car-is-still-faster-than-a-caravan-but-it-does-not-have-the-cargo-space.com" target="_blank">www.my-car-is-still-faster-than-a-caravan-but-it-does-not-have-the-cargo-space.com</a>

I am hopefully that we can start a meaningful exchange of ideas and learn how we can best express our frustration. A forum dedicated to complaining about things we don’t like about the SRT and worry about what every other car manufacture does. Share techniques about how to keep ourselves miserable. Learn how that exhilarating ride in the SRT is nothing but a feeling that can be erased and replaced with feelings of inadequacy. I realize that these cars are not on the street yet but what difference does that make, just the hint of competition is more than enough reason to whine and take shots at that poorly designed heap in the garage.

Eeek don't makes posts like this! DC might see it and withdraw all their support $$ for the VCA. You're supposed to be appreciative and don't rock the boat!

Good post, I couldn't agree more.

I wonder how they can make an ** version of the NSX for an MSRP of 58K when you consider that regular NSX’s had an MSRP of 80K+

There are two other certain things in life besides death and taxes; (1)your car will depreciate and (2)there will always be something better/newer/faster on the other side of the mountain.

The 290HP V6 powered NSX was quickly approaching $100,000, and we are supposed to believe that Honda is going to be now building a new NSX with a 585HP V12, and have the price under $60K!?!

Please...

The concept car picture shown was supposed to be the next NSX, but the price was rumored to be well over $125K, and HP around 400.

Any quick scan of the internet has wild claims about a new Supra, or RX7 with HUGE power and a great price, and these rumors have been going strong ever since those models stopped being sold here (along with the next NSX which has been overdue for years now).

Show me the official Honda press release. :smirk:
Even as a built concept car I'll believe the price when I see them in showrooms (2009?)
Until then I'll read this as an early April fools joke.

Not many of you got the point of my post, some of you really didn’t get it. I made the whole thing up. I wanted to see how fast you guys would jump all over this and you did. I was hoping someone would reply with “who cares”. Why do so many of you care what everyone else is doing? Are you that insecure? Did you just buy the car to keep it in the garage and just talk about it? Do you drive it? What is the profile of complainers and the profile of those who enjoy the car.

I bet those who actually put a decent amount of miles on their cars and enjoy personalizing them don’t whine like the others. I wish this forum would concentrate on sharing ideas on performance enhancements and other experiences surrounding the ownership of these unique autos.

I purchased my Viper because I love the style and the rawness of it. It is a blast to drive and I love figuring out ways to do more mods and get more out of it. If Corvette comes out with a new car, great. If DC makes changes to the SRT, great. None of these things change the great car I have in my garage. They are not going to change the fun time I am going to have this next weekend, installing more mods. The car is not perfect, but what car is. I guess if I did not drive the car so much and work on it so much, I would have more time to worry about other things. Anyway, I don’t get it.

Putting your "wishlist" or suggestions on the site is something that has happened from day 1, so keep on doing it. I would bet right now eveything that has ZO6 on it is being reviewed in the SRT building right now. The funny thing is SRT knew all this was coming, and they didn't do anything about it?

hey Stu... how can you be so sure?

I put my paxton install on hold awaiting news on the new coupe.

A 600hp platform would be more fun to work from. So i will wait until I am

sure.
