As a result of a post and recommendation here, I went and got an insurance quote from Hagerty. The rate is quite low, about 60% of my present rate with GEICO. The only issue is my mileage which runs about 7,000 a year. However, since a large portion of that mileage is due to travel to and from Viper related events, they are suggesting that they can make an exception.

Do any other owners here carry Hagerty and if so, has anyone experience with a claim? Is there anything that I'm missing (being a native New Yorker its difficult for me to believe something this good isn't corrupt)?

City,

I have 3 cars insured with Hagerty. There rates are very competitive, but I've never had to file a claim with them. Knock on wood.

I will be calling them also for a quote on the GNX and the 2 T/A's. They all drive less than 100 miles per year.

If you do a search, there was a recent thread about a member (in Miami) whose car was totalled and Hagerty paid, no problems.

Scott, I too have Geico, multi car discounts, like 5+ cars, good driver discounts, NO tickets, the whole deal for over 20 years and the Viper was SIGNIFICANTLY more with Haggarty. Now my Geico deal may be great because of the above, and I may have wanted too high a value on the GTS, I think I went for $75,000. I think I will try them again tommorow, I will pm you or post here if I learn anything.

I have a general collector car insurance question.

We know that you cannot drive it to work as well as other restrictions.

Insurance covers liability and collision damage.

Here's the question and the one that concerns me most:
IF I drive the car to work (for example) and I have an accident that's my fault, am I covered from a liability standpoint even if the damage is not paid?
