Since Mobil has added its new products marketing over 75,000 mile oil and long oil change, etc etc. The stores that were carrying 0-40 have stopped carrying 0-40 and replaced it with the "new" products.

I can no longer find it in Dallas area??? Anybody know any retailers that carry 0-40?

N CHARG raises a great question...I have NOT seen Mobil 1 0W-40 at 2 local Wal-Marts in the past month...NOR can I tell what Mobil's plans are for the synthetic line in general. One can still find Mobil 1 0W-40 at AutoZone (last time that I looked was 3-4 weeks ago). So far, Sam's has just older "SuperSyn" in common grades...NO 0W-40 at all.

At this point, I have NOT switched our Vipers to 0W-40 as that was not factory fill on our years (newest 2003)...I watching to see what Dodge says about the older SRT-10's...(and I am smart enough NOT to be holding my breath!!!). Therefore, I restocked an entra 100 qts. of regular Mobil 1 10W-30 SuperSyn for our Vipers while I await for lab analysis on the new Mobil 1 "Extended Performance" Advanced SuperSyn Formula...and watch to see what retailers put on shelves.

I bought all the close out stock at AutoZone. They have replaced it on the shelf with the extended life stuff. It was a good deal they were selling it at $1.00 a quart on close out but only had 12 quarts. So now I am out again.

Walmart does not have any, AutoZone is out, PepBoys is out, O'Reily does not carry it, and believe it or not I went to a Mobil 1 oil change station and they don't carry it either.

Go with Amsoil Series 2000 0w-30w

Oh no, I'm sorry I couldn't help it, it's in my blood, I mean it really is. I swallowed some of this great stuff, and it's part of me.

I been beat up badly for mentioning this, but I can't help it! Last time I mentioned it, not a can of worms were opened, but a drum of pit vipers were unleashed upon me.

In my spare time I hang out with Amsoil junkies, and we all now think the rest of the world is crazy. I gotta get off this stuff. Amsoil junkies live in a delousional world, ya know.

I want to be so conventional and try a bottle of Mobil 1 but I can't. Can someone please help me, I got it bad for this stuff.

Steve, where are ya!!!!!

Try the dealership, but you will probably have to try the chrysler dealership. At Mopar, we ship out 0W-40 to our dealerships. European formula is printed on the box and a picture of a crossfire is on the box.

Got the analysis back on the new Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10W-30...looks like the major change in this "Advanced SuperSyn " formula over regular SuperSyn is the level of boron. I was somewhat surprised to see that the molybdenum level was NOT really increased, phosphorus up a little, and calcium was down slightly. Magnesium (that was HIGH in the old TriSyn) was same in Advanced SuperSyn as in original samples of SuperSyn tested in 2002. Zinc was up somewhat as well.

Wish I could say that I really KNOW what this means for the engine LONG TERM!!

Tom ????

Now Skip, if you like, send me some of your favorite brew (what's it called...ScAmsoil ???)...4oz. of fresh stuff straight from the bottle and I can send it to the same lab for analysis as well.
:D :headbang: :headbang:
