Did anyone eliminate their sun visors.

I enjoy riding with the convertible top down and with my sunglasses ("shades")on. When you place the visors in the up position to see out the windshield, and drive the car at highway speeds, the sun visors flop down.

Only two screws hold each sun visor, does everyone take them off?

"You will find the visors come in handy to direct air down into the passenger compartment."

It was in the mid to upper 80's (felt like 90's) and sunny today in S. Florida. Driving from Ft. Lauderdale to Boca Raton and by the beach in mostly slower traffic, and stopping for several intracoastal bridges, it was HOT as hell. The heat from the side sills didn't disappoint either, it felt like 120 degrees.

At least no rain, and bye, bye to Hurricane Arlene.

They were history the first day I had my '05! I think it took me two days to lose the ones on my '96, guess I'm getting smarter in my old age.

Mine held fine, but I took them off because I like the look of the car better without them.

Well, mine are staying on for obvious reasons. You can actually adjust the visor movement resistanace by loosening the two attachment screws and "pulling" on the visor. In effect, you want to take the two supporting rods out of alignment to create more "friction".

I must have gotten lucky with my Viper. At 140mph the visors will stay in whatever position I put them in.

Thanks. Resistance can also be increased by simply removing some of that wax-like lube on the rods. Since the visors are styrofoam with an open-seam metal sleeve inside, there is a structural limit as to how much you can torque the rods to get your added resistance. Did you say 140 mph? How does the top hold up?

I took mine off, I hate the look when they are turned upward in the air. Much better visibility without them.

I took mine off and think it looks a lot cleaner that way.

Hello;

Would someone be kind enough to post the phone # and contact information for the "homelink" visor unit?

I have been wanting something like that for a loooongg time. 3 remotes on my passenger visor. they fall off, can be stolen, and my home would then be vunerable.

Talk about a mod that would do so much and not add more than a couple of ounces. That's what I call a no brainer, and for me, a necessity.

Thanks, I did search here and found nothing. Any infor would be very appreciated folks!

Thanks, as always!

Jim W.
