Norwalk in Sept.....Cincinnati/Southern Ohio Viper owners....

Lets plan a road trip up to the event. I want to start the promotion early so everyone can make plans to go. If possible, lets get a large group together and all drive up together for the event.

I am open to suggestions for when and how this gets planned as I have never attended the event before. I wouldn't mind going up for the weekend if others want to as well.

Congrats Tony on your win. I assume the "racers" like yourself will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday?

Toby, you are right except Sunday is just pack and recuperate then drive home. Norwalk is a very good time and I do hope that you can round up some of the Cincy boys and come up. Call Calvin about the party and his secretary will give you hotel numbers also.

My Viper ran much better after blowing the carbon out on my first run - you Cincy boys should come to run and go home with much better running vehicles.

BTW - My gas mileage was over 14 MPG and that includes 126 highway miles and 10 track miles.

BTW#2 - My Viper was cleaner when I got to the track than when I started thanks to all the rain I drove through to get to the track.

If we can get 17 Vipers to show for a "car show", I think we can get at least 10 of us to go to Norwalk. :2tu:

September 16-18, 2005 VIPERS RACE SATURDAY SEPT 17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Norwalk Raceway Park, Norwalk, Ohio
STAR Chrysler Product Drag Race, Car Show, Swap Meet & Car Corral

You will not see any posted Viper classes on the web site. I'm playing this one by ear with the recent fickle attendance. If we have two or more Unlimited Cars that will be a class. Other classes will be based of the V10 Nationals index format. IE 12.5. 12.0, 11.50. We'll run all the same index cars together, Heads Up. We'll then continue to match cars handicapped by index until we have ONE Top Eliminator.

NOTE: VIPERS WILL RACE ON SATURDAY SEPT 17!!!!!!!!
If you want to get test runs be there on FRIDAY. We'll get 3 to 4 scheduled passes. On Saturday morning Vipers will get a max of 2 time trials. Racing will be around 2PM. Then off to Calvin's.

Just looked at the racing calendar and I can do this so count me in. Are you going to coordinate a hotel so we can all stay at one place near the party? I don't like the idea of driving back to Cincy late at night.

I will see if I can get some research done by this weekend. Staying overnight is ok by me. I wonder how safe Parking Vipers out in the open overnight will be. (never done that before)

I know at least 10+ local guys who read this site who have not responded yet...soooo...

Hotels

Norwalk itself does not have a lot of good hotels, however, the track is not far from Cedar Point (amusement park). There are dozens of hotels located on Rt 250 in Sandusky. This puts you into close proximity to the town of Norwalk which is also located on Rt 250, but, a little further south.

I would suggest looking in Sandusky on Rt 250 near the Ohio Turnpike. There are also two new indoor water-sport centers that contain a motel, if you are looking for something a little different, these are also both on Rt 250.
