Today, I just sealed the deal to buy a brand new, from the dealer, black 2004 with 79 miles on it for $68k and change.

The deals are out there. Don't let the pompous blowhards (who won't dare drive their precious garage queens because they will depreciate) tell you otherwise as they attempt to pump up the value of their junk.

DSR207, you have a PM.

man, you've got a little bit of an attitude with the guys, don't you? you can understand their perspective, they just want maximum dollar for their cars.

I'm holding out 'til the winter, I think with the cooler temperatures, higher gas prices, and new coupe every Viper in the world will be dropping in price, plus time = money and you can't have enough of that...

BTW, congrats on your purchase, go take some of that anger out on the tires, that's what sportscars are for!!!

Kenny- I do think it is interesting that almost every post you have made on this forum in your infinite wisdom of 10 posts, appears to be aimed at lowering the values of our cars.

I am a Vendor of this site, and I very rarely post my opinion if it may offend someone... but I being an owner of the car as well have had enough of this crap with people coming into the market and trying to alter prices. People will pay what its worth, supply and demand. You got a VERY good deal, and congrats otherwise.

Kenny: I believe most of us are smart enought to realize that we never bought the Viper to make money. The value of the machine is fungible. At the same time a good portion of Viper owners do not use them for daily driving. Take a look at any Ferrari and you will note low mileage. Most of the owners could care less about selling them for a profit. Keeping a Viper garaged and well detailed is about pride and enjoyment. Take note after reading the threads for awhile and note the passion we have for keeping these cars in prestine condition. Just my.02$

Hi Kenny, Bob K is right, you are indirectly calling your new purchase junk  , one of the many wonderful tools here is the edit option, it's not too late to do so  ...If that price includes the 3k gas guzzler tax, than you did great. Congrats... :2tu:

U got a pm about the hard top.

Snampro- wasn't it you who they were recommending buy a car for 3-5k more than it's worth? Wouldn't you have been upset if I and some of the others on that thread hadn't been candid. You were asking where the market was. I agree with your buying strategy. I was doing the same until I saw this and decided to jump on it. The tires will get the business soon enough.

357-Thanks man.

Final GTS- Just because I have only posted on this site 10 times, doesn't mean I haven't lurked here for months and doesn't mean I haven't been around the specialty car market for, well, my entire life. To be perfectly honest, I had every intention of buying a navigation radio for my Viper from you prior to your smart remark. Guess who just lost a sale smart guy. Thanks for the congratulations though.

Art- Point well taken. I believe in driving my cars. There's a guy in New Orleans named Jim Spiro who used to drive his Cobra Daytona Coupe REGULARLY on the street. Yes, a real one. He also drives his F50 (also owned F50GT #3 0f 3). Anyway, I admire guys like him and I really enjoy driving my cars--and taking care of them.

Bob and Mike- Guys, chill, "junk" is just a term us kids use. If I thought the SRT-10 was junk, I wouldn't have bought one. It's kind of like refering to my 25 year old fiancee as the old lady---except my car doesn't hit me for it.

So was the 68K "out the door" or before taxes, prep...etc.? Just curious. I picked up my '05 for 75K "out the door" (and included a new car cover and a few other extras).

Thanks vipermansrt04, I really wanted to pay 65, but got impatient. I still feel I got a decent deal, though.

My fiancee fights the chicks off for me, but I can only afford the one I've got anyway.

What a piss poor attitude to have! So you bought the car for whatever $$$, do you think anyone cares? You sound like the guys when I was selling my C5 on the Corvette Forum. Maybe you bought the wrong car or need to grow up, or both??!! :D

Kenny, I was involved in the post you were talking about. I was just pointing out that being mad at guys for speaking there opinion won't make you any friends. I tend to take my anger out on weights at the gym and the accelerator of my cars, but that's just me... I do appreciate you giving us feedback on the market, it gives me a good goal...

No matter, you got a smokin' deal on an awesome car, I'm sure you're a cool guy, your obviously a hell of a negotiator. Enjoy!!!

snampro- Thanks again. I'm not angry, just got a little pissed because if you search back through alot of posts on prices on this site, there seem to be a lot of guys trying to inflate the market, and I don't think it's fair to people who don't have the time or know-how to determine what they really should/could be paying, who may come hear to try and get an honest opinion. I think the deal I got is very doable---not amazing, but very representative of what you can expect pay for a new 2004 that a dealer still has sitting on the lot.

I'm not out to make any enemies, just trying to point out the obvious here. Of course the truth doesn't go over real well on this site, which is why I like the Alley much better. But what can you expect when you have morons posting links to used cars telling you that you paid to much for your brand new one. But thanks again and good luck on your search for a Viper.

snampro-

For that you'll have to go to the Alley. I have a thread in the Discussion Section. I'd post the pics here, but I don't think I can link to Alley pics on this site. In fact if I even type out [******] see what happens. Is that childish or what? I'll PM you a link to the pics, if it gets censored too, let me know.

Lemme see if I understand this now.....YOU started the thread by telling everyone they are inflating the prices of these cars. I agree with your basic premise by pointing out a car even CHEAPER. And I'm the *****?
