Some thoughts - isnt the total number of Vipers produced since the beginning (circa 1993 or so) about 1/2 of the ANNUAL Corvette production?

Corvette Z06 T-Shirt .... $5.00
Corvette Convertible .... $55,000

Better yet the look on the face of the Ford GT owner's face when he hears the tires spin indicating there is something more under the hood!

I would of thought production numbers would be a lot lower then that. Also the color combination would make an even more unique vehicle . For example 1 yellow produced in 2004.

I hope that DC never decides to increase production numbers for the sake of bottom line dollars.

Cheers

I don't know this for a fact, but I read somewhere on here some time back that there were about 30,000 vettes made per year vs. about 3 to 5 thousand Vipers. If this is accurate, then the 10-1 ratio explains why you can stand by a freeway and see a Vette every couple of minutes vs. not seeing a Viper for hours. That and the fact that many of the vipers are garage queens.

From the first production model in 1992, SRT/Team Viper have developed and delivered a high performance sports cars from the show room (no after market power adders required) that we can take to the track for a little spirited driving and drive home with a huge smile on our face with most of the other exotics cars following us on the track and on trailers with no clutch, or other broken components. Dodge deliverers a "reliable" performance. I look forward to playing with the new Vette and Ford GT at open track events like Viper Days to see how the handle being "Driven". The magazine test results are interesting for bench racers but the measure of the cars character is on the track, in my opinion. Viper's are still "King of The Hill" until the other brands deliver performance on the track and can drive home and the end of the event.

We arent going to see a Z06's tail lights on public streets -- we arent going to see a Z06's tail lights on the track - the Corvette is a nice car - kinda like a VW Bug dont you think ? There are as many Bugs as Vettes that can be counted on the streets on any Saturday afternoon. I didnt buy my SRT 10 to race every Vette at every light - I bought it because it looks incredible, and is a complete blast to drive - coming from owning 6 Corvettes and driving a new Z06 the Viper simply blows the Z and C^ Vette away in every category - oh yeah, our SRT 10's come with seat warmers... a big V10~!

Sorry, but you can't compare driving a 405hp C5 Z06 (6,000/yr) to a 505 C6 Z06 (2,000-3,000/yr). That's like comparing a 1992 Gen I to a '05 SRT-10, while both great cars, vastly different in every way.
