Honey... I\'m home... (w/ my new 05 SRT-10)

Ok, its offical, I can now be over here on the SRT-10 Side.

I just picked up the 05 black SRT-10 from Hendrick Dodge to keep its older brother company for a few months (My 2002 ACR).

Hendrick helped me to fullfill a dream tonight. They helped me realise a wish I have had for the last couple of years. I wanted to buy my Dad his very own Viper. Not a used one, but a Brand Spankin New one, just like I bought myself a few years ago. Well tonight that happen.

THANK YOU HENDRICK DODGE.

Sitting in my garage now are two very dirty vipers (cuz I drove the new one tonight, and killed a bazillion bugs im sure). Its sure gonna be hard as hell to give Dad this 05 one for Christmas. My buddy said "oh just give it to him at NEXT years Christmas). Sorry, love the viper, but love my pops a hellova lot more.

Great story. It is a wonderful gift to give your dad. I do not want to hijack your post but I did the very same thing for my father. He was having progressive problems with his lung disease and I was not going to let him die without buying him the car he always wanted. I bought him a Lincoln towncar for his 70th birthday in 1991. He died several years later but loved that car every minute. I am sure your father will love that snake!

Greetings from down the road in SC,and congrats!Welcome to the SRT10 side-drive that thing between now and Christmas,and we may convert you yet-you know we have to keep trying to save you GenII fanatics from yourselves(jk!)

On a more serious note,I think giving your Dad a new Viper is a really beautiful thing to do-you must really have a special relationship.Hope you will both enjoy them!

Post some pics of thoe two Vipers together-when you get the bug splatter off,that is.

I asked about the paper work, even called the DMV and spoke to multiple dealerships. Going to be easy as pie to give it to pops. I'm going to just put him as the 1st on the title too and keep myself as the 2nd (instead of titling the car over to him as I originaly planned), so I can pay the insurance and all. I am even going to buy him a gas card with a couple of grand on it for starters. And a good supply of Mobile 1 and oil filters.

PS. I have to say, these gen 3's definetly have viper DNA in them, but they are a LOT easier to drive. Funny how they get 10X's sexier when you own one. Still would never give up my Gen 2, but man, Dodge definetly took the gen 3's to that next step up in refinement.

PSS. Here are the two siblings together this morning, after I washed just the black one... uh oh.. already playing favorites.

I lasted all of about 12 hours.. my dad is on his way over to my house (about 2-3 hour drive) becasue I was crying like a school girl, and he doesnt know why.
I told him it was a great day, but that Cisco made another dream of mine come true.

So he doesnt know what the hell would make me cry but also was related to Cisco making a dream come true.

OH BOY.. is he gonna find out !!

Im an SRT fan, but seeing your GTS next to it, theres NO DENYING it, the GTS looks SO bad ass.

No matter how hard WANTED trys to promote the new coupes looks, the GTS still looks better.

This is one of the coolest things/threads I have ever read. I am sure it is a really great feeling. I know my wife and I felt pretty good when we sent my parents to Hawaii for their 50th so I can only imagine how you feel giving your dad a Viper.

OMG... the reaction is priceless.. its on video.. we'll try to get it converted, and I'll post it. Unfortunetly I am flying out tonight for Chicago, and wont get to post it myself, but I'll get my buddy to do it. Its priceless, he called me a "Dip$hit" and all.. he thought I was pulling his leg. UNTIL.... we went to Hendrick and I had him sign on the dotted line. He took Sole ownership...

I have never seen my dad cry... today that changed. He cried on the way to the dealership to sign the papers (while driving his new srt-10), and he apparently thought I wasnt estute enough to see it, so he stated "you made me cry" lol.... uh... yeah.. I got that dad..

Good Stuff.. thanks again for all the support on the forum, I wanted to share one of the happiest days of my life with you guys, and you guys supported me !!

Ok.. here it is... after watching the video.. Dad didnt call me a Dip$hit, he called me an idiot... lol..

Also the dialogue we are having when he gets into the car is about how upset he has been on his way to my house, thinking something was wrong with me. (cuz I cried on the phone when I asked him to come see me on his way back from the beach trip he was on). So thats the stage...
