Just wanted to introduce myself. Last night I picked up a GTS Creampuff....bright red. I am a car freak. I tune, race, build, blow-up and fix all my own stuff. I have always loved the looks of these cars and am thrilled to now own one. Just to show you how bad I am, yesterday (same day I p/u the car) FedEx dropped off my smoot tubes, 172 thermo, and VEC2. I can't wait to start tuning this baby as I hear there actually is some 'hidden' horsepower in the PCM.

One question on the V-10. I don't see a MAF, so are these motors speed density?

Anyhow, drop me a note! And I look forward to seeing you at the races!

Get the Roe power steering vent tube. That should be on everyone's "first mod" list.

Yes, speed density. We don't need no stink'in MAF sensor!

Welcome to the club! Post some pics when you have a chance.

Welcome. The VEC2 will improve overall performance. Factory program is too lean at the low end and too rich at the top end. Install a wideband monitor to help tune it right. Cast pistons won't take much abuse.

Wow, the salesman confirms this....he said the Red ones are also known as 'liteweights' due to the different paint chemicals that save over 200 lbs !!!

Cool. I like this crowd !

Well I certainly appreciate the kind welcome. And I tell you what, I thought I got alot of attention in my old Grand National and my radical sounding Corvette. Sheesh, nothing compares to the attention you get in one of these babies! I love it!

I can't wait to dive into the VEC2 programming this weekend and tinker with installing the red smooth tubes.
Speaking of which, what is the preferred air-intake, maybe the 'carbon fiber' induction box that is open to the scoop but yet sealed from the hot engine air?

Thanks!

For the money you can do better than a carbon fibre air box. The plastic one isn't that heavy anyway. I am getting Kumho V700 rear tires as my first real mod since I can't keep it straight enough when accelerating. Haven't arrived yet but I'll post my results.
Congrats and welcome. :2tu:
