The concept car is awesome!! Look at Barrett Jackson, Cudas and Challengers are King! Make it a real Muscle Car, Big HP, Auto and 6 Speed, solid axle, moderate weight (3500#)and bullet proof. Yeh it's got to be a balanced car, but it's got to kick ass in the quarter. 10 to 1 your market measures on 1/4 mile time to road racing. (maybe not hear, but in the real world) The baby boomers are still your market. They have the money and the memories. Make it affordable for the newbees and the oldies. Oh yeah, make the Drag Pac that the Viper never got. You can sell way more drag oriented cars than road race cars, Ask the guys designing, engineering and building the Comp Coupes!!!

they need to offer a true "muscle car" version with bare-bones interior, you know, we GenI Viper guys don't like being comfortable in our cars...

if they get this car even remotely right, I will have one (pleae make it with a 6-speed manual and make plum cray available!!!)

I am very impressed so far. Lets just hope they stay true to the concept when production times comes around.

Yeah the concept looks cool. Hopefully it will boost the values of the real Challengers. Why the Cuda's are worth more when they made so many more of them is kind of strange.

Car is awesome! They just need to make sure they offer one of those cheap performance upgrades like back in the day. Say a 6 speed and huge displacement for a couple K more. I was considering one of the new '07 GT500 when produced (maybe 2007), but now I'm holding out for this baby.

Viper realted HOW? Please move this to 'DRIVEN'.

How about this: if they are producing a Challenger for $35k to $40k that will be darn near as quick as a gen I Viper with the possibility of more (if they use the 500+hp 392 Hemi shown at SEMA in it) is it really that hard to believe that a gen IV Viper with close to 700hp is on the horizon?

They were smart to offer the genIII coupe to the VOI8 guys first. This Challenger, however, they should build as is.
Dodge's only mistake...now I'm not going to buy my srt-8 magnum, cause I'm waiting for the challenger.
Keep the weight down, and I like the option of a drag-pak, but it may not pass fuel-economy standards.
Automobile magazine didn't like the hood stripe... Are they crazy?!!!
I want to put the stripes down the side!

Build it!

Viper Related? I don't care that thing is the rebirth of the muscle car. I love that concept car like I loved the first GTS. That car will change the way todays kids look at their Hot Rods(Hondas, Toyota, Subaru, etc.) My belief is that car will really make it big if Chrysler remains true to that concept. It's gonna make one BADA$$ compliment to my ACR!!!!! Let the muscle wars continue!!!!

I think the Challenger will bomb.
It looks TOO much like the original and if you didn’t buy it back then because the styling didn’t work, your not going to buy it now. I think the Camero looks better.
This is hard for me to say because I think Dodge makes the best looking cars out now, but the Challenger is not one of them.
The original Challengers sell for big money now because they did not make very many and they did not make very many because they did not sell. The big engines were great but not great enough. IMO

Yeh, bomb like the new Mustang!! Original Challengers didn't sell because Dodge was too late!! In 1970 the muscle car was already doomed to fuel and insurance. Dodge is almost too late now. Don't hesitate any longer.

Hey VCA how about a SRT Challenger raffle? Get Roe or Heffner to touch it and forget about the special paint. Viper related? No, But every muscle car/Viper owner should have one. I will if they get it right!!

I never bought one because I was still in diapers. :) Since I have been able to drive I have always wanted one. Only recently have I had the means to buy virtually any vehicle I wanted. My first choice was the Viper, but an old Challenger is on that list. Of course, the old ones are really expensive now, so I think this new one is an awesome alternative. I disagree about it bombing, but I only have but one voice.

Fords retro Mustang is bases on the best looking Mustang they ever build, and with it has a huge following of the Ford Mustang.

It’s looks TOO close to the original. It’s like going out and buying the CD of your favorite album you wore out as a kid. After you listen to it once, It’s worn out.

The problem with the SRT8 engins is that the compression is a little high to surpercharge it easily. They should produce a supercharged R/T version rather. That would rock.

I think the car is great except for the back, but I can get over it. Far as the engine goes, how are the flow numbers on the head and intake? No need for forced induction if the flow numbers are anything like the ls7. Just a cam and minor mods could yeild huge power gains.

Well, time will tell. I think the production version will be different than what you see today. I don't think the 21 or 22 inch wheels will make production. Some of the cladding is too expensive for production. I sure hope they take some weight off it, 3900# won't cut it. They also need a version to compete with the 500 Mustang.

I grew up cutting up Cuda's and Challengers for race cars in the sixties and seventies. In the eights & nineties I found and restored 18 Hemi E Bodies. Two of them Convertibles!! Sold them all by 1996. Now I can't even buy a clone for what the real ones went for!! Shoulda Coulda Woulda!!!! This might be the only Hemi Challenger I can afford!

We need to keep this thread alive in prime time for those in house Marketing Research search projects. Hopefully, the powers to be are being informed of our comments. Apparently, the Charger stuff was lost. DLC, Listen to the consumer, not the consultants

I love the new Challenger concept and will buy one if they build it.

Then I can add it to my '70!

Challenger design is right on the money! Now if they would only go back and re-visit the design of the Charger and bring it back to two doors with similar B-Body aesthetics. I know wishful thinking. At least they got the Challenger right.

SLAM DUNK.
This prototype is dead nutz on.
Looks like Foose just updated a 70'.
As far as performance, an SRT-8 version will at least run 13.1 at 108. (just watched SRT-8 charger run this). To get a 70's challenger to run those numbers would be a feat.
For me, just need someone to go wreck one, so I can buy it to repair......

P.S. if you are concerned about sales, watch what fetches the coin at Barrett Jackson. (E-bodies with hemi's)
