IT'S ALIVE!!! :nana:

My 1993 is not after all totalled, the repairbill was high (30K), but looks like we have come into an agreement with the insurance company.
The car was in excellent condition with quite a few upgrades, so the value of my old 1993 was high enough not to junk it.

I am extremely exited and wish to see the Viper back on the road again soon. I have contacted Dan at Dansauto to do all repairs.

I am looking for a custom hood or a vented hood. Anyone has one for sale?
I will get the Autoform facia and splitter, unless someone here has one for sale?

Please PM me asap, Dan will pick the injured snake this weekend.

One more thought, Like you can see from the avatar, the car was red/white stripes. I am considering to get it painted blue/white stripes, just like the 1996GTS.
I think it might look great and somewhat unusual. Being already half messed up with plenty of custom pars and a Roe Blower, I'm not a bit worried about the resale value. I am not going to sell it anyway...

What do you guys think?

Keep it Red/White or go with Blue/White????

Had not heard you had an accident. Glad your okay. There is a guy in Gettysburg who makes a vented hood for the Viper.

I think either paint job will look great. I think I'd change it to blue/white, just to have a different paint job/look. I've never seen a b/w RT/10, but I think it'd look very cool. If you dont mind talking about it, how did the wreck happen? Is there anything that you can tell us that may help other guys avoid a wreck?

If you dont mind talking about it, how did the wreck happen? Is there anything that you can tell us that may help other guys avoid a wreck?

No advice really, other than pay attention to the other cars in front of you. The fact that they are on different lane, doesnt mean that they wount be on your lane 1/4 second later... I laid 550ft brakemarks, you do the math. :nono:

LAURI - Trust me, you are going to have an impossible time fitting an aftermarket vented hood. I got one from Autoform - it did not fit, and together, my body guy and I agreed that there was just too much work needed to finish the hood and fit it, so we sent it back. Forget Elite, don't even think about it.

If you can, no matter what it takes, repair your OEM hood, they are worth so much money. Some guys will tell you that they cannot ever be repaired perfectly. This is not true - but u will need an EXCELLENT fiberglass guy. My guy in CT. is incredible, he has done this job. Call me, you will need advice on this. Dave. (203) 410 - 6496.

I agree with Daves assessment, if you must add vented louvers to your stock hood but do not go with aftermarket hood Lauri..

Gen I hood pop up all the tie on e-bay. Keep an eye on the shipping cost.

Keep it red. Of course Red is the fastest.

Maybe a different tone of red like Candy Apple or something.

I have a Gen 2 hood for sale. I'm not sure it will fit a gen 1. It needs painting Also the vents and the Duct are missing.

I am close to Lancaster, PA.

Glad you are keeping the viper and putting it back on the road..Its such a nice car (saw it at chucks BBQ).
Blue and white with the GTSR hood would look great..

Good to hear that you are going to be able to keep the car! My insurance guy came out and estimated my repair was over $80K and he stopped there. So i think I can safely say my car is a gonner.

Thanks Ab, Looks like mine in "on the road" to recovery. I am sorry to hear that yours ended up totalled. In my case something good came out of it, I am hoping same applies to yours!
