MAJOR, MAJOR props to Gary Almond, who really came through for us at the Motor Trend Show. On Friday the first warning of a major snowstorm came to light. The Vipers were already sealed up in the convention center. No way out till Sunday night. I made one phone call to Gary and he put the pedal down to get back to Baltimore for his VA/MD VCA friends. Gary hauled 6 Vipers out of the convention center from 10pm Sunday night to 4pm on Monday, delivering them all over Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. He probably got 2 hours sleep if he was lucky. We went from thinking about having to drive the cars in 10 inches of snow to the pure bliss of being taken home by Gary. All of you who have used him know what I'm talking about. But this was way beyond the normal call of duty. Here's our conversation.....30 seconds into my description of our problem he simply said, "don't worry about it, I'll be there, I'll get them all home."
Thanks again Gary.

Gary really came through. If I ever need the viper moved I know who I'm calling. He is very professional and one of the nicest guys you could ever deal with. I don't know how he does it on only a few hours sleep.

BTW: He was supposed to be on vacation this week.
THANKS GARY !!!!!!!

I made it to the show in the blizzard and that was what I wanted to know when I saw my fellow members and their beautiful cars; How are you getting home? All they had to say was Gary was coming to the rescue. I wanted my car to be there, I just didn't have it ready in time, so my hat is really off to Gary and all of our members who braved the storm to give Baltimore a show :2tu:

Thanks everybody for the great comments! When Lee called I just couldn't say no and leave my VA/MD buddies stranded. I wasn't sure what I had gotten myself into though when 14" of snow was dumped on us Saturday night!

Despite all odds, we got it done and I appreciate everybody making it easier by having the cars ready to go. Thanks to you!

By the way, special thanks goes to Lee who spent a lot of time organizing and working the show. He didn't even have his car in the show, but he took a lot of time off to make it all happen. Way to go Lee!

Thanks Gary, and I have to give ViperJohn Mavridis credit for donating at least as much time to this. I had to deal with a broken furnace on Thursday and Friday and I lost power Saturday night, still out. For the last two days of this exercise my life consisted of feeding gas to the generator every couple hours and working the cell to effect our escape from Baltimore. I simply could not have done this without John's partnership effort, he was there from the planning stage to literally loading one of the cars in the middle of the night. He went down at 1 AM to drive one of the cars out to meet Gary for one of our members down in Virginia. Thank you John.

I have to say Gary is still very pleasant even at one o'clock in the morning. Vipers fit very easily in his trailor.

Thanks for helping us out!

Thanks for the props, it was a team effort all the way. I can't thank all members who participated enough.

This is the first time I saw this thread. I have to agree 100% with Lee and everyone else, Gary is a true savior! I was a litlle worried about getting the car home as well, but I talked to Lee and he said that he would have someone there to give me a lift. Sure enough he pulled through with Gary. I was one of the two cars that had to be out on Sunday evening, I only live about 3o minutes from the Convention center, but none the less, I did not want to take any chances with the snow, ice, and salt. Thanks again Gary and Lee!

Apologies to Gary A. for the cut in...

People created the automobile to escape from Chuck Norris...Not to be outdone, Chuck Norris created the automobile accident.

If you're driving down the road and you think Chuck Norris just cut you off, you better thank your lucky stars it
wasn't the other way around.

Chuck Norris qualified with a top speed of 324 mph at the Daytona 500, without a car.

We now return back to the stellar results of Gary A.

Thanks,

Jay K.
