Re: \'01 RT/10 price advice needed.... Thinking of selling

There was a yellow 02 RT w/ 13k in FL asking 54.5k or 55k firm. that felt high a little but wasn't that out of whack. 50k for yours sounds fair. I just dont' know how 22k in miles affects it. To some, it doesn't matter. To others, it could.

That was insightful. must be late...

Don't sell. you might regret it later. i suppose you could always buy another one then, though. :)

Are you "asking" for 50k or selling? Most buyers want to see some movement. They will low-ball you. Work backwards. If you are going to settle for 50k, then ask 52k. If you will settle for 48k, then 50k is correct. This is the high time of the season. You have the warranty. My opinion, ask 53k, settle for 51k. Never underestimate the value of your goods. If you do, others give you no respect and you end up losing out.

Re: \'01 RT/10 price advice needed.... Thinking of selling

Thanks guys. I have enjoyed my car but it may be time to move on. I am considering the sale for the sole purpose of paying down my mortgage. In answer to the question above, I am looking for the appropriate asking price. Having sold my '94 RT/10 a few years ago, I understand that buyers want sellers to negotiate. If I were buying a car, I would want the same thing. Thanks for all the responses.

Is that warranty still transferable?

I purchased it from Bill Pemberton when I bought the car and I think they said it cost $50 to transfer it to a new owner.

With the warranty you've got at least $50k coming! Good Luck! :2tu:

Yes with that warranty $50K is about right. If you get an offer for $48K or $49K that is not bad either but stay away from anything lower. Good luck with the sale. What is the replacement going to be?

Paying down the mortgage?

You know the old saying:

"You can live in your car but you can't race your house on weekends" :D

My .02. If the car is in premium condition, ask a premium price. Good luck with your sale.

If I decide to sell, this will be my last Viper for a while. I have truly enjoyed the car and I have met lots of great people because of it. If my priorities had not shifted (re: mortgage, etc) I would not even think of letting it go. The VCA community is a great group of people so this is a hard decision.

Good luck with the sale. If you want to part with the MGW glove box door, let me know.

Thanks. I will see what happens. If the buyer has no preference, I can always re-install the OEM piece. I will let you know.

I wanted to offer a good deal to induce a quick sale. The car is in perfect working condition and the new owner will be very pleased with the product. I am going to give it plenty of time to sell but I thought I would cut to the chase with a low price. I hate to part with such a good car but I really want to do some other things with the cash. Thanks for all the great feedback.

Being a great car in excellent condition, it will sell quick anyway. Jack the price up a few K and then you can negotiate a little if you need. Will everyone please quit giving their Vipers away???

Thanks. As the pictures demonstrate, $47,900 will give the buyer a very clean car with lots of horsepower.

I believe the going price for that many miles is $34,500, but I'll give you $36K for it and save you some trouble. :)

Be patient. High end cars don't normally turn over in a couple of weeks. It is a pretty select market unless you are really underpriced. Only a thousand or so a year new in the whole country and that was with the convenience of going to a local dealer and ordering one up. I always figure on at least a couple of months to move a car. You are well priced I think.

I think that you are alittle low. 53k would be right. 50k will make it go quick. Nice car.

Nuck,

You are correct. It takes time to sell a car like this. This has been a great car and I will really miss it. Of course, since it is yellow, it is naturally faster than all other RT/10s out there. And since RT/10s are naturally faster than all GTSs, I guess I have one of the fasted stock Vipers in the world ;) Thanks again for all the great comments from everyone.
