As some of you may know, my car has had a serious problem with HP, even before the accident. While my torque numbers (475lbft) have been mostly in tune to other cars, my HP numbers have never really crested the 350hp mark. I never had the money to have Heff tear into it and since it wasn't an apparent issue to the car, I decided to hope that my slow bolt-on building would correct the issue... at least eventually.

Using the very, very last of the Raffle money I brought her to Tator and told him to make her healthy again... and I'll be damned if he didn't.

On this trip the Wiz swapped all fluids, put on a new intake, belanger headers, 3" hi-flos, and a set of harland sharps. The difference is amazing, simply amazing. Its not as loud as I thought it was going to be and you can actually feel the power pushing against the tires even at 100mph.

Chuck, again I apologize for waking the family last night and I really appreciate your polishing these issues out. Your experience in these, and all the other little issues you found, proves to me that the extra cost in travel was worth every single penny.

It might be faster, which it has to choice but to be, however, is it performing to the standards that those mods support? Only a dyno pull will tell.

Can you or the Wizard comment on the Harland Sharp RRs? They seem to be the most economic set out there, which begs the question if they are just inexpensive or "cheap". Sorry to hijack....I haven't seen too much info regarding them. Thanks and congrats on the fix!

From what many tuners (including Roe and the Wiz) say the Harlands are great for applications under 600hp. The Jesals are a must for over that amount. I was told to avoid the T&Ds because they require modification to install - something I did not want to do.



Gerald - I only cleared about $45,000 cash-in pocket after taxes and about $35,000 of that when into home repair from flood damage. After some minor debt eradication total free spending was less than $3500, which barely covers viper tax on the really fun stuff. I have a set of tires in my future and then I'm back to square one.

The T&D's DO not require modifications to install. I know mine didn't require anything more than a longer set of pushrods, all work done by Larry Macedo (www.macedomotorsports.com) Maybe we can get some of the tuners to chime in (1TONY1) about the misunderstanding :D

There are many guys more familiar then me, but:

According to T&D the rocker stands on the heads need to be milled to get the correct geometry. Does anyone do that.....No, and I haven't heard of any problems.
If we turned these engines 9000rpm we might see some problems. I still have Arrow rockers but when I do heads I will be upgrading to Jesel.

Mike longer push rods do make T&D's work BUT the geometry/angle to the valve stem is not right and to make them right you do need to do head work i.e. lower the mounting area for the rockers.

Hi,

I agree with Chuck....the stud bosses may require machining to get the proper geometry as mine did.

I guess I should clairify that I didn't mean the T&Ds required more modification then they were worth, I was simply looking for a direct bolt-on application. The harlands might not be the best on the market, but since I have no intention of knocking on the 600hp door any year soon they suit my needs perfectly.
