Gateway\'s Make a Wish Event 2006

This was my first trip to this worthwhile event. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to give the kids rides, but they got to sit in the cars of their choice and received a nice diecast car to take home.

Darn insurance regulations- giving rides was the best.

It was still a great day with over 20 Vipers and hundreds of smiles!

Thx for posting the pics!

I think I'll have to ask Dave what that orange item is in his yellow car in the top picture...?? ;)

Great pics! I think Make-a-Wish is one of the best charities there is! It ***** stupid insurance regulation B.S. didn't allow for you guys to take the kids for a ride. I would've been tempted to tell the kids to jump in and we'll let the paper pushing insurance nerd chase us as we go flying down the street :headbang:

Nice David! Just don't forget your pump. :D

Make-a-Wish is a terrific organization and has been our club's primary charity the last 10 years! :2tu:

What a great day! Thanks to you all for donating your time to this worthy cause.

A little perspective- in the 21st pic or so, the pic of the "adult" looking wish child in black R/T, he is 25 and has been a wish kid for 20 years. His mother told me that they "almost lost him again 3 months ago"..he wasn't expected to see his 7th birthday. She says he has all the diecasts we've given him from the past years and he has requested that they are put in his casket when he dies.

We must live every day to the best we can and not worry about "what ifs". We are all very blest and I consider it an honor to participate in this event every year!

The Gateway Club is awesome!!! Now, if we could just get David to leave his mini tire inflators at home:)

The kids were great, all of them enjoyed the cars. Will be there next year. Of course you know you need to get alot more YELLOW diecast Vipers since they were gone FIRST.

I will leave the "extras" at home next time.

Thats a great perspective. We all think we have problems, but in reality very few of us have a whole lot to complain about (especially with most of us being lucky enough to own Vipers) when compared to kids with problems like they face each day.
