Looks like its getting close to 50-50 here. How about if you had an offer for $49k from someone here on the board but $50k from a smashmyviper clone? Hate to say it guys but for the extra K, I'd probably go for the extra cash and buy a $25 square on some obsolete website. I'm attached to my wife and possessions but once they are gone, they can be **********/pummeled into purgatory for all I care as time is short, time to move on.

If it is a car that I cared about, it matters to me. When I sold my 76 Trans Am back in the day, the kid that bought it loaded a set of studded snow tires on the mint back seats, flooded the car in my driveway and peeled out. It bugged me for a while.

I remember finding a cherry 65 Mustang just out of high school that I was ready to buy. I took my dad along to check the car over before I sealed the deal. My dad proceeds to tell the owner that this car will handle great in the snow with studded tires just like his 66 used to. The owner put the cover back on the car and said it wasn’t for sale anymore. The ****** is I had a ****** and would have never driven it in the snow.

Ah, Ohio weather and classic cars, what a mix.

Looks like you have a small leak there and a hood alignment problem.

Never knew that car had met an untimely Death.

(But the Vipair survived!)

As PatentLaw stated, it's pretty ironic to read all these "It's not my car anymore, I could care less" responses afer all the name-calling that went on toward the SmashMyViper guys...I'm sensing some serious double-standards here.

And no, it's no different.

I couldn't AGREE MORE!!

I agree as well.

I care.

It would have to be a major event to sell my car, but a few years back when I
was staring down a very deep bankruptcy ravine I sold my cherished jeep off.
I've spent seven years now trying to find it to buy it back with no luck. It'll
rip my heart out if its totaled before I get it back.

I don't care. If they buy my car, which is for sale, it is theirs to run off a cliff if they want. It is not like a living thing, like getting rid of your 9 y/o dog or something. Oh well, everyone is different I guess.

I gotta disagree - anyone who truly loves their car notices behaviors like any
animal has - the above mention jeep always ran better after running through
mud, my viper HATES my wife, my Impala didn't like to be ignored. I won't argue
whether its psychological/psychosomatic, but I for one have no doubts about
some of my cars very animate personalities.

When selling my GTS, with $20k in road course up grades, I push the fact that it would make a great track car, but I must say I felt like a father pitching his daughter for a job at a Nevada ranch.

I cared.

I wouldn't say I CARE what happens to a car I sell. But my Vipers I've sold tend to make me wonder about them from time to time.

I know my '97 GTS I sold to Tom, a member here, has been taken care of and is fast as all Hell Nowadays! :2tu:

My TT GTS, is faster than ever, as the owner sent it back to Heffner for more goodies a couple weeks after he bought it off me. I wonder how many bikes he's wasting down in Florida! :D

Care? Not really. Wonder from time to time, and like to hear they are doing well, sure! :2tu:
