I am currently looking at a 2006 Slate SRT-C and am interested in adding traction control to the car after/if I purchase it. I've only seen the racelogic system mentioned in posts on the forum, if there are others that are available I would love to learn about them as well.

What I would like to know is:
1> How well does it work?
2> What, if any, drawbacks have you experienced since its install?
3> Since its adjustable, how well does it work on the track?

Thanks in advance,
KEast

I hope it works well because I would probably get one installed on my next Viper. I'd keep my GTS pure for the track, but a gen3 or 4, I wouldn't mind as a daily driver.

Still wouldn't want it as a gun-to-the-head factory option. Keep the Viper pure out of the factory!

Mark over at Woodhouse installed the Racelogic with a Paxton on my car. I have only driven the car a dozen times since I got it back, however I love it. It allows you to control all the HP that the car has, especially with mods. The system can be turned on and off. You can control how much wheel spin occurs on a percentage level. It has a launch mode that basically makes an amature become a pro, from dead stop launches. It has a wet mode that does not allow any wheel spin. I highly recommend it.

It runs about 1600 by the time you are done plus installation.

And when it works, it works well.

WHEN it works?... what's the failure rate on these things?

I assume you mean "when it works", IE when the system kicks in due to traction issues? I would hate to think that the system itself is somehow not reliable.

Woodhouse looks like the only dealer installing them in the US?

No Stripes :/ Have not seen one anywhere with stripes. I bet slate with silver stripes would look awesome though.

Re: Aftermarket Traction Control Systems (Opinions from those who have them

when it works = i spend 2 years fighting w/ RL to get mine working. tech support from the UK based company was 'fair'. Before i made the purchase i was guaranteed by the selling vendor that it would work. Well, not so much. And then instead refund (after fighting for 2 years) they gave up their support of the product and Woodhouse took on support. Rather than getting into it w/ them, I've got a TC unit sitting in a corner of my garage.

N/A it works well. Turbo, SC, or NOS, not so much. basically anything that adds fuel (or w/m) that doesn't use the primary injectors (oh, it only cuts 8 of 10, BTW... used to only cut 6 out of 10)...

Re: Aftermarket Traction Control Systems (Opinions from those who have them

We have been working with Racelogic now for about a year and could not be more pleased with the handling of any warrantee problems. There is always a chance for failure in anything but we have seem VERY low failure rate considering the amount of units we are selling. Installation has been the most problematic cause of these issues. We are here to help but would strongly suggest you have a qualified dealer do the install. We also have the programs availible for the Vipers be it N/A or S/C. The stock program does not really cut it for the power of the Viper and with the introduction of the Viper spec kit we have made the system easier to install and set up.

We have installed about 20 of these systems on our S/C Vipers both New and customer supplied and we fully believe as do the customers that it is one of the best "upgrades" there are out there. :2tu:
